Love the hard hit ball by Plawecki. Shows our guys came to play hard ball despite the garish uniforms. Those uniforms are a sure sign no one in the FO is superstitious because that 9-4 record was achieved in traditional uniforms.

Wasn't the FO's decision to make

With 2 games tomorrow, not a fan of overusing the bullpen today, but that's what will happen most likely

That's the sort of reaction I expect from somebody your age. The sport is trying to attract younger fans. Young people (and players) like things that are flashy, and they don't like wearing the same dull uniforms everyday. I like them BECAUSE they are different. Change it up here and there. And the colors tie directly into the Marathon. Also, I will be a resident of the Boston metroplex in about 45 days, so I feel the pride and sense of unity that they are meant to promote.

Flashy uniforms, dog races, midgets pinch-hitting, fireworks, etc are what Bill Veeck used to bring fans in. But what keeps them coming back is how well the game is played, which means winning.

Nice rbi by Verdugo, nice at bat.

I don't disagree. It just gets boring for somebody my age to watch a 4 hour game without any sense of whimsy

Btw, is there any other 3rd baseman in the AL you would trade for Devers? My answer would be no.

Jose Ramirez if he weren't ice cold at the plate right now

Devers has hit it on the screws both times up. Baseball is just an unfair game.

The HR that Eaton robbed from him would be a no doubter in any other kind of weather

Very few people your age watch a Sox game with your devotion. So, if you want dog races and/or midgets pinch hitting, I'm for 'em. When I was about 10 years older than you I had an uncle who was about 55, lived in the Boston suburbs (W. Newton) and did not miss a Sox game--or inning, for that matter--on TV. I thought he was nuts.
