I'm not the one punishing Porcello; he's being punished by the opponents he pitches against.

Porcello gives up runs but at least he usually takes 5-6 innings doing so.

They should have kept Marco on the 25 man roster.

He's one of the few guys that was doing better than expected, and who we might need to learn more about, so we can think about using him in 2020.

Prophetic. Owings has no business wearing a MLB uniform, with the possible exception of bat boy. Sadly, the Angels knew this before Cora did.

I seriously can’t believe Chris Owings is starting and hitting lead off for the defending champs.
After Sam Travis batted cleanup yesterday, this doesn’t surprise me. Another stupid Cora move.

Why punish Porcello? Ever looked at Cashner’s track record?

Both are past their prime, but unlike Cashner, at least Porcello had a prime.

5.67

Nuff said.

True. But when he leaves the game, there is a bad odor left by that ERA of 5.67.

Taylor throws 96 and has a good slider when he is on. I think with a little more experience he will be an option next year out of the bullpen. It’s hard to find good left-handed reliever’s.

Like the rest of our bullpen, he is a AAA arm.

I’ll take Workman’s arm over any of the starters, this year, anyway.

That sounds a lot like a business that is losing money on every transaction, but they "make up for it in volume".

He’s had a s***** year. Cashner’s has a s***** career.

In his 5 seasons with the Red Sox, Porcello has had 3 atrociously bad seasons, 1 meh season, and 1 stellar season. Overall, he benefited from his contract more than the Red Sox have at $22.5 million/yr.

We have 2 major league arms in our bullpen, Workman and Barnes, and I would not be upset over losing either one next season.

Might be interesting what the SOX plans are for him next year. He definitely has the stuff to be a starter, but can the SOX afford his absence in the BP?

For DD finding any good options in the pen is difficult.

Sure they would; they’re paying most of his salary anyway. The Sox are on the hook for about $1M.

And his performance doesn’t even justify the $1 million.
