The SOX have 4 players that should not be traded and s/b kept at all costs. They are Devers, Bogie, VAZ, and E-rod. Imho, everyone else is expendable. Oh, hell, let's keep Workman and Barnes.

Vaz and E-Rod? Two players who has drove us to our limits?

It feels like we're at a fairly big name rock concert, and there's only 12 people in the audience--and one is the sound engineer.

There's not too many catchers who can hit and E-rod has been our best starter for quite a while.

Vasquez: .255/.675 for his career. He is not a great hitter.

he's not being traded.

I would not trade him. He ranks 10th in OPS in the AL of catchers with a minimum of 150 ABs. Not bad. Not great either.

Red Sox media commentators continue to say, along with many fans, that JDM will opt out at the end of the season.

That seems very unlikely to me.

He won’t go to the National League as the 33 year old is no longer a full time outfielder .

These American League clubs are rebuilding:

Jays, white Sox, orioles, royals, mariners, tigers and the royals.

The twins have Cruz, the angels have Otahni.

The Guardians, rangers, rays and athletics don’t play in that price range.

I can’t see the Astros spending that kind of money on a DH, and they have a very strong hitting club.

That leaves the Yankees, which won’t happen with Stanton on the roster for many years.

JDM is staying with the Red Sox.

Good post. Depressing, but good.

They can't trade somebody if they have no replacement in sight.
