Of course, the N.L has 6 pitchers with an ERA of under 3.0 and three under 2.36. Ryu at 1.76.

Morton leads the AL with 2.6. (4 pitchers under 3 ear)

The few remaining pitchers left that actually challenge hitters are in the NL. I mentioned in the pitching and trade threads that if we were going to get a starting pitching, I would way prefer one from the NL than from the AL.

Because of the DH it's been written that NL pitchers' ERA should be boosted by .50 to relate to AL pitchers' ERA.

NFW do I not score on that play. This is the Yankees. Do you think they'd give the Sox that courtesy? NO WAY!

Angel is the face of MLB umpiring.

Joe West retired didn't he?

Despite everyone hating Laz Diaz, he's a pitcher umpire with the big strikezone

I realized that just after I hit Send. :(

Oh Angel deserves this guy Rayburn on his crew. They will likely fall in love and elope. That would be a fun one for Torre to explain.

NOPE....West is still around. he is so out of it now that he is regularly getting in the way of the fielders when he is umping a base. Its actually pretty hysterical to watch if not for the fact that MLB wants us to take this nonsense seriously.

No, Joe is still around.

Thing is, West can be a really good ump when he decides to be. Angel is simply incompetent.

With West, Hernandez, and this turd umping tonight, the umpires' union is just giving MLB the finger.

The SOX offensive explosion tonight amplifies just how great a pitching season Morton is having with Tampa.

Yup...IMO, Morton and anybody like him is the future of MLB pitching if anybody running this circus act has a brain in his silly little head. Gonna' take a lotta' changes to get there though.

West is the president of the player's union.

Verlander doesn’t challenge people?

A lone exception that proves the rule and nobody is going to get Verlander out of Houston.

If we need a pitcher I prefer he come from the NL where there are more pitchers that challenge as a matter of course.

There are a couple of very young AL pitchers that challenge. But they are breaking down about as soon as they get here. What a surprise!

I wouldn't have created this game thread but I personally know that Porcello is going to pitch the game of his life and win this for us..... And by that I mean he will go 6 innings and keep it at 3 runs or less (or so I hope)

Tyler your predicted this spot on. Good job sir.

I'm referring to the umpires' union. They've never forgiven MLB for hiring non-union replacements(SCABS) during the umpires' strike years ago.
