I would bet real money that all it would have taken to have turned this into a split series 2-2 at best would be if the Jays were still carrying Tellez. Heck it might still be a split series. We put NOBODY away this year....NOBODY. Will be interesting to see if we can put the lowly O's away in the next series.

Mookie and JD haven’t found their combs yet this season. It’s pretty late in the game and they may be lost for good.. not just misplaced.

Do you remember how Yaz would seem to screw himself into the ground on his swings and misses? They are comparable in stature, especially since Devers trimmed down from last season. Yaz was a little chubby his first season too.

And that is why we don't put anybody away. Not convinced we can really go anywhere with only a couple of hot hitters, a bunch of broken down starters and a catch as catch can pen. Every single game is a struggle against league lames and we end up really struggling against the better teams.

I hadn’t thought about it but you’re right.

 

Devers is a much better 3rd sacker though. Yaz was a great LF and a decent 1st baseman but the month or so he tried to play 3rd he was awful.

I never saw one of those handful of games that he played 3rd, but I remember hoping each game that he would get more hits than E's. LOL!

I don't believe that Workman signed up to be the lone reliever in the SOX pen. If he did, he would have asked for a lot more money.
