One of those SLOOOOW games , but with a nice lead, where it will take forever to get through Price's start and to the BP, so we can see how they are doing.

How long before JBJR's BA/OPS exceeds Chavis's ? I will venture July 10th for a crossover moment.

C'mon, Vegasbob. MC Hammer has given the SOX more offensively than Moreland and Pearce. Of course, DD could send Hammer down so we could see more of Nunez.

Ted, give Jackson his shot this year. If his boys do not win the WS, then there will be an entire off season to autopsy the corpse. Only one team wins . The Red Sox did it in 2004, 2007, 2013, 2018.

The Nunez thing is of interest, SS. My real point is that MC for all his big bops is just not ready for the long haul. I hope he becomes that guy, but not yet there.

Google Robin Ventura charging the mound and Nolan Ryan. Ryan beat the crap out of him. Priceless.

Lmao damn. He was so calm too. Headlock and shots for days haha.

I would take Moreland back and playing over Chavis in a NY minute and NO, Chavis is not a 2nd baseman. Pearce, not so much. They might even be better off giving Travis all this playing time which says more about our farm system than anything else.

Heck I would want Moreland back and playing there while not being much of a Moreland fan.

if Price can continue at this pace, he will get 7 in the book and the pen is "rested" by all reasonable allowances. 2 innings. Smith/Workman ??

Moreland. like Pearce (for better or worse), and Eovaldi are topics of discussion, not actual players of baseball.

Chavis was playing mostly 3rd base at Pawtucket. The SOX bring him up and place him at 2nd, where for the most part, he didn't embarrass himself. Then they moved him to 1st, where again, except for London, he has done a decent job. And considering all these adjustments he's still doing better than average at the plate. I give the guy credit for doing what most rookies aren't asked to do.

And I support your assessment. Chavis has , in fact, contributed, and done whatever he has been asked. JBJr is on one of his hot streaks and MC is slipping somewhat but that doesn't take away from his presence when vets like Pearce and Moreland cannot get on the field. You can't help the team from the whirlpool. MC is not guilty of that felony.

Put another way, Moreland and Pearce are $13 million dollars worth of excess baggage at this point. Eovaldi, not far behind

What Smith? They don't have anyone named Smith on their team.

Also, unlike a few SOX players, Chavis can play everyday w/o the use of bubblewrap.

I saw a shot of Josh Taylor and jumped to the wrong conclusion it was Josh Smith . Apologies

No need. I can't remember most of the pen names.

I got a new wireless printer this weekend. Mother of god why I did waited so long to get one. It was just $50 new.

My first PC in 1998 with monitor was almost 2K. That piece of junk today wouldn't cost $100.

The Sox IMO have done a pretty bad job of handling 1st base, overpaying twice to get not very much value over there. While Moreland for two years is in an absolute sense actually a bigger crime than Pearce, Pearce simply should not have been brought back at all, PERIOD. Total waste of payroll and utter malfeasance on DD's part.

It has been a long time since the Sox have actually cared who played 1st base. Have to go back to Mo Vaughn to find the last time they cared at all and before that George Scott.

Anyone here old enough to remember Dick Stuart? Perhaps the worst defensive 1st baseman in the history of baseball.

Good points, Jung. Please note that a major announcement by the Sox was that a guy on the 60 day IL was going to be your closer, when he was ready. The season ends September 30, except for playoff teams.

Yup....if he were a goalie we would have been saying "another one through the 5 hole" over and over again. Thrown baseballs, ground balls ....you name it. Guy ruined my perception of 1st base for years. Figured teams must decide to simply put the biggest lump of s*** they had at 1st base and just give him a giant steel cup so he doesn't hurt himself too much.
