Back to Yaz not winning a Ws title, keep in mind that the Sox went from 1939 through 1989 (less Williams war years) with 3 HoF'ers in LF pounding the ball and never once in those 50 years won a WS. What was it 4 game 7's , plus 2 one game "play-ins' (1948/1978 ? ) and never got over the top. Just goes to show you that with 4 WS titles in the 2000's, we can afford to play Benintendi

Another stat from the KC feed. The SOX have the highest slugging percentage and OPS against RH relievers in MLB.

Which is more impressive when you factor in that they don’t get to face the Sox bullpen...

Red Sox put together some really good at bats. The triple by JDM, Devers drawing a walk rather than swing outside the zone, Xanders flying to right was a textbook way to bring a run in. Holt then doubled. Even Chavis lineout was a good attempt. Love to see the Sox put together a string of good AB's like those.

I can picture AC sitting in his office well before the game saying, " Holt or Nunez ?? Nunez or Holt ? I really like nunie, but let's give Brock a shot tonight." Thanks, Alex

I would have left E in to finish the 6th.

Can't tell you what will happen, but I'm ok with the move.

Oh boy here comes hembree.

that may be all he does, getting the one out because the other guys need clean innings. Probably Walden, Workman, Barnes ??

Credit given where credit due. A quality start by E-rod.

Maybe a quality start, but not a Quality Start...

Sorry. A quality start entails 6 full innings. My bad. Let's call it a fine start.

Was good enough. Against this team I expected more but he gave us a chance to win. The offense has been pitiful.

Based on the number of terrible teams in MLB, the sensible thing to do would be, instead of talking about expansion, the talk should be about contraction. There's just not enough available talent to feed 30 teams. This also holds true in the 3 other major sports. But because everything is decided by money, this will never happen. And there probably will be more expansion. Truly unfortunate for real sports' fans.

The “Benintendi’s Slow Start” thread needs to be changed to Benintendi’s down year.. guy is a shell of himself right now.

ba;b

As good as the AB's were in the previous inning were, last inning they were mostly bad. Vaz swung out of the and compounded it by taking a called third strike, JBJ rolled over the first pitch for a weak groundout, Betts did well to get walked but then Beni struck out on 3 sub 90 mph fastballs that a major leaguer need to be able to get solid contact on. Not good.

Over the last 30 days, Beni is the weakest hitter on the team. That is a prolonged slump.

Thanks, YAZ. Sometimes I can be serious.

As great as Michael Jordan was in the 90s, he did play vs watered down talent. The competition in the 90s was not even close to the 80s. Some of the players that Jordan faced would have been sitting in the stands in the 80s or 70s.
