Remember that HR Todd Frazier hit off of I think Morton in the Houston/NY Post season series and it stunned Morton so much to see that ball leave over the wall in Yankee stadium RF that Morton was done for the night...just done in the 3rd inning no less. The entire Houston team was done because that was a Yankee RH hitter just doinking the ball over the RF fence and the Houston RH hitters (it was and is mainly a RH hitting team) looked at each other and said, "We can't do that. We don't swing like that."

I think that is what just happened to Price and is likely what happened to Price when he got creamed in this place last time. All it takes is that one doink shot and your pitcher can turn to jello before your eyes. And that error should just about do Price in.

Look at Price out there. My hand doesn't feel right. Thats it....its my hand. He is fine as a pitcher all the way up until something goes wrong and then he seems to fall apart before your very eyes. But I can't deny that Morton fell apart exactly the same way when that Frazier HR went over the Stadium RF wall.

Andujar hit a HR on a ball up and outside; then the error. He should have been out of that inning.

Mookie has no HR's this month??? If he can't hit one even out over the LF wall in this place, we got problems.

RF wall is a joke in YS, the LF wall is a different thing

I don't like walks. Had Price not walked guys on, he would have been out of the inning before the Nunez error. Its impossible to completely absolve Price for that inning. That said, Morton did exactly the same thing in exactly the same situation. Worse actually...but you can see your pitcher just trying to figure out how the heck he is going to survive this place if a hitter can just doink the ball out on that kind of a pitch. THAT is what makes this place so damn dangerous and so frustrating. Pitchers have to be mentally tough as nails in this place. Heck whole teams have to be mentally tough as nails to play the Yankees in this place.

Its not that hard to get it out over the LF fence either. The walls all the way around are too short except dead in the power allies and CF where the walls are the same height but there is at least some depth from LCF to RCF. If you can pull to LF and doink to RF you should hit a zillion HR's here.

This is likely the same team they will see come the ALDS. It’s clear as day that the skankees are not afraid of the matchup.

The problem I see is that Price is having to be very careful because the Yankees are having little problem seeing his pitches and are hitting is mistakes hard. Without the error, he still gives up the dinger and needs 40 pitches to get through 2 innings. Severino is, I think, also pitching carefully, but has much better stuff--faster fast ball, better break on his changeup, etc. So right now he is breezing. Oh, that egregious error by Nunez? Yes, it was. But brother Price was the one who loaded the bases with Judge coming to bat and actually threw a pitch that Judge hit hard but right at Nunez.

Bottom line to me: one pitcher is way better than the other. Did somebody really blame that on Cora? Seriously?

Really? It’s a rivalry team. They have beaten up on this team. They have had trouble hitting lately.

You CANNOT pitch LH hitters inside here and you CANNOT pitch RH hitters outside here. Half their RH hitters actually aim for that stupid RF fence and their LH hitters really don't even have to aim for it. So a pitcher has to challenge the RH hitters all night long and he has to keep the ball away from the LH hitters all night long. If you have Greg Maddox control you can do it....if not, then not.

Price has only 2hit —one of them a HR. The thing with Price tonight has been the walks.

The walks have been brutal. Price seems a little nervous of the Yankees lineup. Regardless it should be 1-0 right now. An error like that just can’t happen against the Yankees. Price hasn’t been great like the last few weeks but he’s been far from bad.

I am actually dreading the Playoffs. A great season and out in the first round I fear. They don't have that swag..

This group has done nothing when it matters. Why should anyone be confident in them? They have to prove their doubters wrong.

I want to say don’t be negative but...... I’m a bit nervous myself.

The only mistake Cora did, was yesterday, when he went with that line up after a day of rest. We should’ve clinched yesterday  LOL!

BTW another Pop up for XB

We have had a fantastic year but against teams like Houston and the Yanks. I can honestly say Boston hasn’t done anything overly impressive to Convince me we can win. It will be a tough series but the outcome I don’t know.

We have won I think 8 of the 14 games against them. The Astros and Guardians have better pitching than we do. And the A's won the season series against us.
