I think some people here think that he has potential just because he is a Red Sox player. I don't see it, not yet. He has no idea of the strike zone and is pretty awful in the field. I hope he comes through, but so far there is no objective evidence of it.

That is one of the downsides of bringing up a kid that does not belong here. Now the counter argument to that is "well he will learn faster getting his tail beat in every day". I actually don't buy that for a kid that was as green as Rafi was when they brought him up. He is getting buried now and shows signs of deciding "f*** it, I have no idea what is coming at me and I can't lay off of any of it. So I think I will just swing and see what happens".

Rafi has me hoping for the end of the season or even some sort of minor injury at the end of the season for him. "Sox announce that they have put Devers on the 60 day disabled list for an inflamed hangnail".

"But there is only two days left in the season!!!!!!"

He could surprise me...but I have my doubts for this year.

Beeks came in for the 2nd inning and did not give up the 1st inning run to NY. Now he's through the third and hasn't allowed a run nor hit.

I hate the rays but they do a good job with their pitchers. Idk what they do.

Gee, the booth on MLB, Kostas and Kaat, are talking about making rules regarding the shift. Two guys on each side of 2nd or no one in the shift can be out of the infield, or once in the shift to start a batter, it cannot be changed during his at bat. Wow, Ted, look at the mess you've started.

Remember the misery when we were under 50 games above .500?

I don't ever want to go back to those dark days! I can't go back There! We can't go back there!

Not sure anybody has noticed but this game is just zipping along.

Can't have a slow game when both pitchers are efficient and only a few reach base. Prefer this one to stretch out starting in top 7

Beeks with 3 innings of no hit-no walk , K'ing 7 of 9. The comment about pitching for someone other than Boston or NY is mentally easier may well apply. Of course TB has exactly one hit off Happ in the 5th inning.

The rays have a history of developing some pitchers in their minor league system. I wonder about our developmental system in the minors.

Maybe but i am not buying that theory when it comes to beeks.

Hasn't developed much in a long time.

The best example of a player who couldn't handle the pressure of playing in Boston compared to a small market team was Carl Crawford.

What an awful deal that was. Thank you Dodgers. Carl did not do squat in LA either.

Well beeks just gave up a hr lol. The kid has good stuff but his control can be off.

A front row blast that doesn't reach the warning tracks everywhere else. What a BS ballpark.

Forget Beeks, he gave up 2 runs in the bottom 5th. Obviously a low talent, low energy type guy, lol

Beeks just gave it up to the Yankees...2R HR

Walked the #8 .223 hitter and gives the HR to Romine batting 9th
