I realize most all MLB hitters can catch up to 100mph FB if they see a few, but who is that is actually calling these breaking pitches by Kimbrel and Kelly. It would be one thing if they could throw it for a strike or near the plate, but they don't.

I don't like how many pitches Kimbrel is throwing here. Ugh

It will be over 30 and Craig looks gassed

Great game. Lesson to Cora. Even 4 out saves are not exactly Kimgrel's strong suit.

Actually 5 outs tonight.

Beni didn't look too confident after making that catch!

That was funny......... kind of looked like he was saying to himself "please don't blow this, please don't blow this".

It's really bad that these *******s calling balls and strikes don't have to answer to anybody.

So many of them miss the the pitch that goes to the bottom of the zone after seeing a bunch at the top of the zone. Its almost like they are teaching the umps to call some sort of relative strike zone now instead of an actual strike zone. Year after year I tend to notice they miss more and more pitches that can be characterized that way.

Followed by "Phew!" LOL

A win, but not exactly encouraging. Lineup stunk again, and for good measure so did the bullpen. Barnes tried to give up a run, Kelly wanted very much to give up the second dinger--before Cora took him out--and Kimbrel needed like a thousand pitches to get a four out save, maybe to signal Cora he still doesn't like doing windows. He pitches the 9th, and he usually does that pretty well, and he does not care to do anything else.

Porcello did go 6 and give up just 2 and absolutely got the hit of the game.

Vaz did jump like he never saw a breaking ball before on that pitch though.

Kimbrel was fine. The home plate ump had some problems.

I would not like to see that too often. Thirty pitches is simply too many pitches for him and he was up to thirty before the idiot ump missed the call.

A road win in a NL city with JDM resting has to be of some value. The hitters certainly didn't do much on an off night for Scherzer . Maybe we load up tomorrow and don't need Kelly , Barnes or anybody else.

We stole one tonight. How often are you going to see a pitcher drive in three runs? How often off Scherzer?

Beni, Bogie, Moreland, Devers go 1 for 16 , followed by 3 for 3 Holt , who did get caught trying to run on a good LH'er.

He was starting to look a little gassed.
