Living on the outside corners.

If he's going to be out there, they've got to think opposite field. That's how they got to Paxton last night (though the Mariners helped out in the field as well).

I don't get why Xander keeps sliding into first, it is not a smart baseball play. Also, Dee Gordon has been ridiculous in this series defensively. He's robbed at least 5 hits.

That is twice in the last week that XB has used the slide at First. Can we stop now XB or will this be one of those deals where 50 slides later you are safe and decide that justifies it.

Sliding into 1st is a reflection of lack of base running intelligence.

And years and years of data and research and coaching not to........... I have no idea why people still do it. Blows my mind.

I don't care if it gets you there quicker or not (I don't think it does); the risk of an injury to a hand or finger is too great.

The ONLY time you do it is to avoid a tag on a throw up the first base line and you want to get under it (and then you aren't worried about getting to the base quicker).

No player liked to slide more than Ty Cobb and he never slid into 1st base. It's also a good way to injure a hand. Right, Pedey?

Cobb slid feet first with spikes high.

Was going to say. The largest offender I can remember was Pedey.
