That was a nice change. He just does not have enough stuff to not use his whole arsenal it would appear.

Glad we got a chance to see that Change. If you are going to take a beating your first time out, you should at least learn something from it. He is getting a real lesson at least. But he probably learned enough from that last batter to make it worthwhile.

If the Sox score some runs he might feel better about things.

So this Beeks kid ....umm is this the best we have down there ???? OMG he sucks

Don't completely agree. First inning a disaster of course. 2d and 3d not so bad--1 run. If he could get his changeup working, he could be decent. Every hit by the Tigers was off his fastball which he doesn't spot well and which the throws too often. Decent curve ball.

You do have to wonder why this was important to modify the rotation. On the one hand see what Jalen does have, and on the other they can afford to drop one if he lays an egg, which he did . So now you send a unconfident, depressed kid back to Pawsox to tell they guys what is what like pitching with 2 outs in MLB.

The Dodgers did a similar thing last night with a young call up and he got pounded too.

Just put it down as an experiment that accomplished very little unless the Sox go bat nuts in the next few innings.

I'm hard on him but I do love the High heat the Change is pretty damn passable and his frisbee needs Aton of work .....Id be tempted to let him pitch the 4 th out and work on that High FB and change ? It's no mans land right now ...we score 2 here he comes out .

I was abit angry when I wrote it ...the kid has talent .

Clearly out to naked eye from 3B side. Ump going on sound and there is no sound when the ball is flipped. Hard to watch feet and glove from that close.

I'm not one to complain much about this team but there's ZERO need for Cora to give 2 extra days off on the rotation. 1 is enough.

Imagine we miss the division by one game ( with winning over 100 games ).

I can understand if they were at least 5 games up but come on, we need all the games we can to win this division.

Wright replaced Pom for his start and everyone else is healthy. There's really no need to call up a rookie for a spot start here.

I understand the kid could be good but now is definitely not the time to experiment.

From where I am sitting I can only judge the hitters’ reactions and Beeks isn’t fooling anyone except the hapless hopeless Jacoby Jones who is batting lead off as a result of an act of managerial negligence. Do his pitches have any movement.

He has little control, if gets ahead, he can perhaps elicit some bad swings.

Beeks probably needs all four of those pitches. Thats the lesson he takes from this outing IMO.

It's a shame nobody else can play over Nunez in this system.

Cora wants righties tonight. I'm just wondering what the heck happened to last year's Nunez. He ain't hitting and his swing looks awful, unbalanced. He has little range at 2b. I did like his hustle on the ground out to the right side, but that's it.
