I'm sure not getting regular ab's is a factor, but Swi is NOT making a strong case to be played&

 

I agree 100 percent kid mailing it in ....I would release him let him have. Fresh start .

What he did in this AB is not really the point. Why have they just let him rot on the bench. Even your normal 25th man gets more time than Blake has gotten. Just trade him for God sake.

THEN LET HIM GO and put somebody in his spot on the bench that the coaching staff sees as more valuable. What they are doing with him makes no sense whatsoever. At this rate, if they ever actually need him somewhere it will take another spring training just to get up to speed.

You may have hit on it right there. He may figure into the Sox plans for the future but since he's out of options they can't send him down. Plus he's not currently better at any position than the players on the field.

 

I do think they should put him someplace sometimes though. JDM may not be the 4th best OF'er on the team but they find a time to put him there.

Swihart has three hits in 18 PA's and 17 AB's out of what now....180 innings of baseball this team has played, 540 outs worth???? Forget it...they don't like him. They don't want him. Fine..whatever....but you will need that 25th man over a 162 game season way more than we are using Swihart.

 

This during a period when they are resting everybody including the grounds crew if anything too often.

IMO Swi's problem is that they want him for his bat but he's at best the 3rd best fielder on the team at any position. So where would you put him?
