My question is why have Pom up now while he is obviously not 100 percent. With Valazquez pitching well, why not give Pom about 2 to 4 weeks to get back to full strength.

Maybe they misjudged his readiness and felt he was near 100%.

It does look, in hindsight, like he should have gotten another 2-3 rehab starts in AAA before being called up.

It's not always easy judging these things. Maybe he looked sharp in his rehab, and they felt he was ready.

Maybe, he regressed a little from his last rehab start.

There's a lot we don't know.

And I've never understood why people can't separate sports from real life. Baseball is just a game being played by millionaires (not that their pay matters to me - I'm just stating a fact). If the Red Sox win it doesn't cure cancer and if they lose it's not the end of the world. Sports is - or IMO should be - a diversion for most of us.

I believe that most (all?) players are trying as hard as they can to be successful, it's just that some are more talented than others.

I find it deplorable and unreasonable when a poster repeatedly attacks a player because that player didn't live up to the expectations of the poster.

Well said, S5.
