I don't really understand the complaints about Betts being sat today. Has anyone considered the possibility that there may be a reason for it, that they chose not to share with the world? You announce a DL-worthy injury, or something that might take someone out for a few games. But maybe it's not that. Maybe he has the shits. Maybe he ate at Chipotle last night and is feeling a little gross and was afraid he'd slide into home and leave a skid mark halfway up the third base line. Maybe he had a migraine. I've had enough of those to know it's almost impossible to read a book or blink, or do anything other than lie quietly in the dark, let alone play a baseball game. Maybe it's any one of a hundred other things that Betts and Cora chose not to share with the ravenous media and judgemental fans. If it was a serious problem, it would have been shared. So maybe we can just trust that they had a reason other than "Betts is a wuss who can't play more than a couple games in a row".
