I believe he said "that was for you, bitch" as he pointed to Kittredge (the pitcher who threw behind Romine's head). I'm sure you'd be ok with what happened if Joe Kelly was the one who did it.

Serious hypocrisy in this thread

more importantly what obscenity did he shouted from the top of his lungs with his junk firmly grasp in his hand?

But you were ok with ortiz screaming a profanity over a microphone with many children in the stands?

He should get a movie made about it.

Kelly yelled 'Let's go!' after his pitch, I think.

I've got no problem with the pitch CC threw. That was all within the code. But 'That was for you, bitch' is a little over the top, if you ask me.

Hypocrisy exists everywhere. Neither Sox nor Yankee fans are exceptions to this. Sabathia had reason to retaliate. His language and gestures were uncalled for and out of line. Kelly had reason to retaliate as well. No problem with that. I had no respect for Barnes throwing at Machado's head. Totally uncalled for and out of line. But expecting fans to be reasonable and fair minded is expecting way too much. I guess that is part of the fun.

Exactly, hypocrisy exists everywhere. CC shouldn't have yelled at the dugout. The message was sent with the pitch. Let it go from there. I agree with the assessment that he shouldn't have yelled at the other squad. Other than that, I entirely think his hitting Sucre was appropriate

Are you seriously comparing Sabathia grabbing his crotch and calling the opposing pitcher a bitch for doing what 100000 pitchers before him have done in the same situation to Ortiz defiantly cursing during a speech denouncing terrorists?

Yeah, I understand throwing at the guy, I’ve never liked it, but hey, that’s baseball. The vulgarity of his chosen response, though, seems incongruous with the image the organization likes to present to the league and the country. The Yankees don’t even let their players have beards or long hair, they’ve always tried to project themselves as the “gentlemen” of baseball, loftily staring down their noses at the immature, rowdy kids on the other teams. No matter how many times their stars slap balls out of a glove to avoid a tag or throw jagged bats at runners. We as fans are free to be hypocritical, the Yankees shouldn’t be.

I'm not comparing the reason for the profanities, just that one really shouldn't complain about one player shouting a vulgarity (which happens all the time) and then excuse another player for shouting a worse vulgarity over a microphone.
