No, apparently this isn't "boneheadedness", it's aggressiveness that is encouraged by JF & Co.

Facetious I presume. Its stupidity. Vasquez did the same thing, trying to steal 3B with nobody out.

But that wasn't aggressive. It was just plain lazy. How can Holt NOT look to see where the throw is going when it's right in front of him? He went in casually standing up where if he's seen the play he'd have known to slide and been safe.

Yes, totally facetious. I'm the self appointed leader of the expose the excessive boneheadedness club.

Maybe he didn't go in hard because of the score. Maybe. But still, that is some bad base running.

If you're not going to go in hard, then just stop at 2nd.

Plus, the play is in front of you.

We can make the game short with our bullpen after 6 innings. Hopefully we can get the good starting pitching and timely hitting come the playoffs.

That's my thought exactly. Yes, we'd be relying on our BP to come though, but aren't we relying on everyone to come through?

Surely. I just hope to see a better effort than last year come the playoffs . Houston or Cleveland are very good teams but they're beatable. Stealing that first game's always huge.

This.

I can't handle back to back sweeps in the playoffs.

I certainly hope we see a better outing from the Sox than we did last year, Last year's playoff team looked lackluster to me. Maybe it was because the Sox were facing better pitching but still.... I hope for more.

ERod's got his ERA below 4.00 now.

He's gotta be our number 3 now.

Game 1 Sale

Game 2 Pom

day off

Game 3 ERod

Game 4 Porcello/Price if up 2-1 or Sale (on 3 days rest) if down 2-1

day off

Game 5 Sale (or Pom, if Sale was used in game 4)

Porcello likely might not be in the ALDS roster but we will see.

Fister has to be thinking he might be Pitching for a Roster spot, maybe not for us but another team next season. I expect a bounce back from him.

Funny how 3 starts ago, people were taking about him being our #2 or 3.

Teams better not take the Sox lightly. On the Road, winning tough games, beating teams they must beat. To me they are the team that's peaking at right time. They still had to stay ahead of the Yanks. It was only 3 games when they started this trip, they will go home, with at least 3 games ahead. This, while the Yanks were at home.

This is Play-off baseball, every game meant something. Still does, now finish the job.

If they win tomorrow they finish season with a 45-36 record on the road, that's not easy.

Which I still can't believe. I'm torn between him and Porcello right now for 4th starter. But no way in hell should he be starting over Pom, E-Rod and obviously Sale. Fister and Porcello are just inconsistent that it could really go either way right now.

To be fair, none of the three teams we've gone 7-1 against on this road trip are playing playoff baseball, so it's not quite the best sampling

Then Sox better not Pitch Sale in the Astros series that's coming up. Face same Pitcher 3 times in a span of a few days not good. It could be the Astros. That's why I really hope we finish this against Toronto.

But at the same time, the Orioles always play the Sox in the regular season like its game 7 of the world series, so there as tough an opponent as any for this team to beat.

I'm not counting Price out of the #4 starter conversation either. We're more than two weeks away (Oct 9th) from the 4th game of the playoffs.

I don't see anyway they start Price in playoffs. He isn't even stretched out. I think they'll do exactly what Farrell suggested and use him in the Andrew Miller 2016 playoff role.

I'm not sure 9 days off is good for Sale either, despite me thinking he probably is fatigued.
