Thats what home run hitters do. Hit mistakes. We don't need power on this team its not how were built...lol..
We are built with a popgun offense to support pitchers like Porcello and ERod who gives up more than 4 1/2 runs a game. Great formula, DD!!!

I know I'm in the minority here, I do like the statistical side of baseball - believe it or not - so I also like listening to Speier. However, watching him another story. Will someone please get that man a pocket protector?? LOL

He is another twat.

Although tonight his comment about "The Launch Angle Revolution" was timely as we are currently discussing possible reasons for the 10% increase in HR this season.

But Jesus does he look like a f***ing dweeb that should be checked into the lockers.

I lucked out and fell asleep. Here we are in the 6th and I can't remember watching a more pathetic Sox lineup. This is exactly the same lineup--with tweaks here and there--that basically could not hit 10 or 11 straight starters, including tonight except for that one win which now seems to have been made possible by stealing signals.

Just took my dog out for a walk, did that pitch Morales hit was meant to be thrown in?

At least your dog got to take a healthy one. Hope he pissed on the neighbors shrubs too...lol

Last night I was torqued with Farrell because he waited too long to take Porcello out. Tonight it seems so obvious that with this pathetic bunch of bums managerial moves are completely irrelevant. Indeed, one could make the argument they have been doing this all season long--taking the manager out.

It appears that the Sox are taking a healthy one, too. Ugh

So who will we play in the wild card game?

You really believe we will get a wild card slot? Keep watching and get back to me. This team right now is completely in step with the disastrous crew of September 2011.

He told me nothing that I haven't known and posted about since April. Oooh the big revelation, our lineup contains all average guys and no big hammer. He needed to wait 5 months into the season to gather data that proved that. It is why sabremetricians can't be building and running teams. By the time they have enough data on which to act, the game and/or season is in the past tense. The only thing interesting thing he said was the stat that shows that the horrible makeup of this offense hasn't been seen since 1929. That put an exclamation point on things for me.

It has the same feel, but the one key difference is we have a couple of good arms to trot out to the mound in 2011 that we didn't have in September 2011.

We are being carved up by a terrible pitcher. Pathetic.

Hanley takes a called third strike on a four seam fastball over the plate (less than 90 mph to boot) What else is new.

Of course, Butterball would have sent Sandy Leon on a popup like that and he'd have been out by 40 feet. Aggressive base running is what they call it. Not Farrell's fault. He has no idea what is going on.

Meh. I'm now on the lynch Farrell train, but what we are seeing tonight is the real reason the Sox are losing. They simply can't hit and basically haven''t except for that 16-4 run in August which it is now possible was created by stealing signals. We love to gripe about overly aggressive baserunning, but completely ignore this team's total lack of power and therefore compelling need to run more than they have in the John Henry era (except one or two seasons when Jacoby Ellsbury was greased lightning on the base paths).

Erod just became my favorite pitcher. Nunie makes the bobble and erod goes up to him and says don't worry I got you. He proceeds to strike out the next two hitters. He deserves a better fate in this ballgame.....

On the plus side..... Kelly tonight has succeeded to look the most hipster any MLB player could possible look in a uniform...

"But but but.... He leads the team in HR so he must be real good."

Maybe it just means we should point fingers elsewhere. This offense isn't hanleys fault. Dreads or not....
