Hey everyone. First time poster here from Chicago (White Sox fan) My wife, daughter and I will be visiting Fenway for the first time this weekend and are planning on going to the game Saturday. Any tips for first timers? Must see things, what to avoid etc. Also, I haven't gotten a ticket yet was going to wait and probably grab them on stubhub unless anyone has other tips?

Thanks!

Not a problem. It's a question that comes up a lot around here and I figured a quick search would help you out!

Here's another thought for you on tickets. There's a site called Red Sox Replay that allows season ticket holders to sell their tickets on line. http://redsoxreplay.com/resale/redsox-events/

If you look around you may be able to find some decent seats at face value or slightly above.

Also, I've had good luck with Ace tickets, and if you need to have them in Will Call there's an ACE close to the park.

Try shopping on line first. When you find the exact seats you think you want listed go to Precise Seating.

http://www.preciseseating.com/

When you enter the section, row, and seat #'s they will show you the exact view you will have. That's pretty important especially if you're getting tickets in the Grandstand section since MANY seats in the grandstand section have views of the field that are partially obstructed by posts. And don't take the Sox word that a seat doesn't have an obstructed view. They have a VERY LIBERAL definition of "obstructed" and it has to do only with being able to see the pitcher and the catcher.

Or.. if you're really brave and want to maybe get some really good seats show up at the Landsdowne street ticket window.

http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/bos/ticketing/gameday.jsp

But beware. Tickets GO ON SALE 90 minutes before the game. That means you want to be there 2 1/2 to 3 hours early to get in line for good seats. The downside is that you're taking a chance that you might go away empty.

If you're interested in this at all I'd recommend getting tickets reserved for one of the games and try to get seats on Landsdowne street for the second one. IF you are feeling brave and want to take that chance!

If I went back to Fenway I'd 100 percent have a Fenway Frank and a sausage and peppers sandwich....

I know you have it good in Chicago on the sausage and sandwich thing, but might as well check out the Boston version....

go early. get a pregame beer at cask n flagon. go into Fenway when the gates open and walk about to the different sections. go to centerfield bleachers and find the red seat. heckle the opposing starter as he warms up in the bullpen. stay in your seats middle 8 to sing sweet caroline.

When i enter the park, I find my seat then just wander around. I pay the price for my brews in the park. I always go to the red seat. i sit beside it not in it. I am not worthy. Seriously what a freaking clout it took to get a ball up there. I just enjoy walking around. Seats are cramped and uncomfortable no matter where you are. I fit in them just fine but many people I have sat beside tend to slop over on to me. I try to keep moving.

This helped me a ton. I picked up two tickets from the Redsox ticket exchange in section 9 Row 2 on the aisle for only $55 each. seems like a bargin compared to what I was finding on stubhub! Plus Precise seating confirmed no obstructed views!

Not sure if you have read this yet but getting to the park really early and taking a Fenway Park Tour is a REALLY good idea. There is so much history and other interesting s*** to see and to experience.

Maybe look at the Sox website or call them to find out what times the tours are run. Maybe you can make a reservation?

Another question, I keep reading about the Kids Concourse/Wally's clubhouse. I'm in Grandstand 9 how would I go about getting to the kids concourse?

Thanks!

You'll walk right by it apparently. It's at Gate B where you will enter Fenway for Grandstand 9.
