Gotta be more careful with Belt. The Giants have very few guys in this lineup right now with Posey and Pence out that can punish you, Belt was one of those guys.

This offense just can't hit right now. We need to hope that price can continue to put up zeros

Well they were facing one of best pitchers in the MLB, with David Price in the lineup hitting instead of Ortiz. Games like this happen.

You do realize Bumgarner is one of the best in the game, right?

Lead off runner seems to be left for dead lately.

Personally I would have saved Shaw for later and had Rutledge lay one down to advance Young to second.

I know that but it would be nice to hit some great pitching for once.

Normally, I'd be okay with that, but having an automatic out like Price in the lineup really makes it hard to give away another out in a game like this. in that scenario I could see Giants just walking Vazquez and forcing Price to beat them or forcing Farrell to pinch hit for Price, which he most likely didn't want to do.

If they walk CV you let Price bunt and give Mookie a shot to drive him in. If they walk Mookie you have Pedroia.

You are right, I was thinking there was one out when Rutledge/Shaw was up, I forgot Shaw had made the first out.

O.B. scared me with his call on that one. It reminded me of Jerry Trupiano's "way back way back" heart attack calls.

Giants telecast did same thing.. In both announcers defense, off the bat it sounded/looked gone.

Got to be Price's last inning. There's no put away pitch right now.

I would think so too, but with 8-9-1 due up next inning, I could see them attempting to get another inning out of him.

This what I call an ace performance. We have to win this. Their ace is not pitching anymore. Their BP shouldn't be an issue.

Also, Price could easily pitch another inning and set the table to Kimbrel.

Do people here remember jerry Trupiano? He was Castiglione's radio partner for a few years. He would scream "Way Back! Way Back!" on his Home Run and deep fly ball calls. We had a pitcher for a couple of those years that we got from the A's -- John Wasdin. The organization had very high hopes for him. When he pitched, Trupiano seemed to be shrieking "Way Back!" every inning. It got to the point where the fans nicknamed him "Way Back! Wasdin." Maybe Fred pinned that one on him.

I prefer DH, half the pitchers can't hit/don't hit/don't give a s***.

I grew up with the DH. But I like the pureness of no DH. I'd change it to no DH if it was up to me. I love the middle of game decisions to remove the pitcher....
