No one said he should be nominated for a Cy Young. Of course he not any good. But ask any manager, GM, owner or player and ask what you want from a guy like that who is going to be back in the minors in another week and might not even be in the organization by the end of the year. They want him to give you a chance to win and don't blow up the bullpen. That's what he did. You yourself said he sucks. So what did you expect? You probably expected him to go three innings and give up eight runs.

He gave up hard hit balls the whole game and got lucky he was facing one of worst offenses in baseball in Oakland or his already s***** line would have been even worse. He still is horrible and not doing "his job" I don't care what the expectations are, if you pitch bad, when you are expected to pitch really bad, that isn't good.

We don't have to give up 7 Rs to figure out that this pitcher sucks. Time to go to the pen.

I don't care how many hits he gave up. I don't care if every out was a guy hitting a triple into the triangle and getting thrown out at home. For a guy who not going to be here long, I don't care about stats or one-game ERA -- pretty lame. I care about results. I want him to not kill the bullpen and give the team a chance to win. And like I said, the only ones who are complaining about that game are misguided fans. No one in the clubhouse and front office were complaining.

He was given 14 runs of support, its hard as a pitcher to not "give the team a chance to win" especially against that offense. He is still an awful pitcher. Do you really want to see more of him? Did he give the team a chance to win today? He left with a lead!

But, he does kill the bullpen...Your argument is week.

Hey man, he gave the Red Sox a chance to win when the offense scored 13 runs, its really hard to find a pitcher these days that can do that. Then he came back with another strong performance to give the team a chance to win a game in which they scored 8 runs. There is a reason O'Sullivan is undefeated this season.

Hanley is on fire.

Hi Roy, IMO O'S shouldn't start again, he really sucks. We are lucky this offense has made 8 runs, thus far.

O'sullivan was good in a sense that he didn't give up 10 runs in one inning and get chased early. He was a victim of good circumstances, he was a filler and he filled but if this team is going to rely on this guy long term they are in trouble.

Omg here comes the top of their order, the good news is that Ross isn't anymore in the mound and Hembree is ready.

Brand new game. This team would have been just terrible if the offense was just ok.

Our pitching has been the Achilles heel for a while in Boston.
