So what was the official diagnosis for Holt? I see he's out of the lineup tonight, so it must be pretty serious.

My guess is that he has some unquantified damage to his knee. Which sucks because he is one of the players to watch on this wretched team.

 

Unless it is a very slight sprain, my guess is that he will not be much of a contributor for the balance of the year. It sucks to sound like Jacko.

 

I think Pedroia is really done for this year, too. Last night Shilling said that while talking with Pedroia he saw the injured area on his leg and there was a lot of discoloration.

 

That indicates hemorrhaging. I'm no expert by any means. But that sounds very bad. I doubt that it heals fully by the end of the season. Going forward, that injury is suspect. It could effect how Pedroia plays next year and beyond. Hammy injuries blow.

It's my understanding that he's day to day. But, of course, if he goes on the DL, jacko will be the first to let us know...

Maybe if his leg was hanging by a thread. Sometimes they just continue to play. He did eventually come out with the rout. Who knows? I'm just speculating. This season I am always prepared for the worst.
