Winners in 4 of our last 5... Maybe things are starting to pick up. Still tough to know what Bucholtz will show up though. I shamefully fell asleep before the game ended last night :(

So now we're rolling. Since Nieves left, both Miley and Kelly have cleaned up their act. I guess there are such things as miracles. Now if only Buch can put together a similar outing to Opening Day.

WIN!

We need Napoli to get his bat going. He was ripping homers in Spring Training, but thus far he has been truly horrible.

I did not expect Nap to flounder. I hope that he snaps out of it soon.

And let's not forget Big Poopie. He is not exactly on a tear either. He needs to amp up his game.

Sox just need a lot more production from their "core" players.

This is going to get even more weird than it is if the pitching levels out and the hitting doesn't.

Not really.

But do you believe that the Sox pitching has now turned some corner? I certainly don't.

Back to back decent starts means almost nothing. The rotation must prove to be consistently okay to good. Assign any WAR you wish.

What we have is approximately what a700 said. A heaping pile of steaming s***.

There is no sugar coating it with speculation. They are not that talented.

None of us want to face the post-Papi era, but this could be the year where his productivity starts declining at an accelerated rate. Good things don't last forever. He is getting up there in years and he is a very big guy -- they tend to decline rapidly. Thank goodness we have Hanley to put behind him. The other guys including Pedey will need to pick up their game around Papi.

Turning the corner has to start somewhere.

Our last run through the rotation was pretty good and about as good as can be expected.

I'm wondering what would have happened if Wright started the Oakland game.

I expect the rotation to level out, not be great. Personally I think Bucholtz may be the weak link.

If either Papi or Napoli doesn't get going, we are sunk anyway.

Also in the last few weeks watching the games, "They are just not talented enough" has been a thought that occurred to myself on many occasions.

Did anyone figure out what HRams second steal was all about? Seriously that was dumb. I'm hoping it was a mixed up call or something, if Farrell called that, he should be questioned about it.

That is an interesting statement and one that I think might be accurate. I do think that the pitching staff to date is one of the worst that i have seen in Boston in a long while. Personally, I guess my expectations for many of our position players were much higher as well. It really sucks but I will always be a fan. I really cannot see the logic in many of the moves that they made this year.

Not at this point, anyway. Not much has panned out.

Good thing about having a game on so late is I'll have something to watch when I can't sleep tonight because of my sunburn. Screw you Irish skin!! I put spf 50 on and was in the shade!!

Victorino and his excitement need to be in the lineup next Sunday when I'm at the game. I've been dying to hear some "Three Little Birds" since 2013.

I'll take it, X! But, it seems extra hard to hit one out tonight. Pedey and Cano could have had one in the first, and now Nap and Bogey in the 2nd came close.

Please tell me that Gameday doesn't have the whole story and Mike Napoli wasn't actually trying to steal home.
Victorino was caught off first base in a run down when Napoli took off for the plate and got caught in a run down.
