A's Obtain Samardzija and Hammel

The A's made a huge move today obtaining Samardzija and Hammel for prospects Billy McKinney and Addison Russell and Dan Straily. The A's are looking like the class of the league.

Sometimes these big trades don't always work out, but Samar and Hammel work out well for the A's they might actually get to the WS this season. That was a great trade on paper for them.

I was under the impression that the Cubs were going to get more for Shark, but this deal seems to be in the best interests of both teams. Theo gets yet another top tier prospect, and the A's get two quality pitchers for the stretch run, and Samardzija has another year of control so the A's will be able to get something for him.

 

It seems like a perfect storm for Billy Beane to win the American League. The Rangers have been hammered by injuries, and the AL East has been a joke. Good luck to them.

Ya the A's picked a great time to make this kind of move. If the Sox are out of it, as a baseball fan it be great to see the A's run the table.
