This x100. Growing up sucks, since high school its been all downhill for me. Now its nonstop stress and ********.

 

It's been stressful for me too, but I heard it's always like that. It eventually gets better with time, but I have no patience. As much as I bitch about life, I have it pretty damn good. I've done a lot of s*** as a 19 year old. Guess you have to take the good with the bad.

I mean my life is far from bad its just that its nonstop stressing over work and school. My work is inconsistent with hours, I'm having trouble paying for school and have to stay at a stupid ass community college, literally only due to money reasons and I don't have much help paying for anything. But yeah, I have no patience either, I wanna get out of this s*** school and at least get into a real school, for one, college fun and 2. better my education.

This team is missing the element of speed. You can all scream and yell that Ells was not worth the money, and I will not argue with you on that point. People will also ppoh pooh the value of a stolen base. However, that weaponized speed of his was not just about the stolen base. It was about the fear that it put in other teams. Every time he was on base, defenses had to give him a lot of attention. Every time he hit a ground ball to teh left side of the infield his speed put pressure on the defense. He forced miscues. Also, his speed forced pitchers to throw more fastball to Pedroia, and Pedroia is a dead red hitter. He will see a much different selection of pitches this season.

I agree. He was an amazing threat on the bases. I can't even recall a time when he made a mistake on the basepath. Victorino's return will help, but I don't see any other opportunities to replace the baserunning value lost from Ellsbury. Maybe when Nava gets taken out to pasture, Sizemore add a little more of that dimension

A very putrid 10-game stretch. We probably had at least one 10-game stretch last year too, but in mid-season where you didn't notice so much.

 

If the offense sucks just as bad for the next 10 games then we may have some serious issues.

oWAR rewards double play avoidance, and adjusts for positions. The worst two hitters being corner outfielders is definitely weighing that total down. The 17 GIDP is also killing that total.

Does it really matter if the stat is correct? A pair of eyes tells you that the offense has been extremely lackluster.

 

Hard to fathom Ted that we have some friends here who cannot see that our offense is leaving a lot to be desired. Four hits in game one and seven in game two. Fortunately the seven hit game turned out to be a win but our hitters have to get going and the sooner the better. Pedroia has been ice cold lately and Nava is still in the doldrums. Both those guys hit over 300 last season.
