Peavy had a below average start, but you can blame it on the high altitude and "it being one of those nights"

If WMB could just figure out how to lay off the s*** he can't hit with a boat oar he would be so much better off. Even if he could just see those pitches he would be much better off. Not quite Chris Davis in waiting but the Davis story is somewhat similar.

I was thinking of Mueller, who hit two in one inning, one from each side of the plate. That was an awesome game. Back when Texas had no pitching and was easier to beat.

Depends on how vulnerable he makes himself at the plate. Up and over the plate he can hit with a reaction swing and he has enough power to drive that pitch a long way when he does hit it. We have seen that time and time again. If he would just be looking for the inside pitch more with less than two strikes, he would hit it better and that is where he just crushes balls. If he narrowed up his strike zone with less than two strikes it would help him avoid swinging at those s*** pitches that he just cannot hit if his life depended on it and simply pounds right into the ground even when his bat does on the rare occasion actually find one.

Whats up with MLB Network? WMB hits a grand slam and they dont talk about it. If it was the Cards or the Pirates they would not stop talking about it. I dont know if its just expected from the Sox and nothing new beating teams like this they been doing it all year.

 

Oh and does anyone know if Ells is alright, i seen he came out early in the game just didnt know why?

He was only expected to play 5 innings, Sox want to ease him back. Since minor league season is over, he couldn't play in any rehab games, so in some sense, these are his rehab games.

Ellsbury was a little shaky in his first AB but battled back from an 0-2 count to get a nice hit and start a 3-run first inning.

 

And yes, MLB Tonight absolutely loves covering the Western games and the NL central more than anything. I feel like they don't talk about the Sox enough, but maybe they're just talking about them while I'm on NESN watching the game. I wish the east got more of the late night attention, but the games aren't on late enough sometimes.
