Disregarding this game, they look like a Pony League team out there tonight. WMB looks like he might be coming back into form. But their middle of the order has pretty much sucked as of late. This isn't how you compete in October! Just sayin....

Don't understand why they were so swing happy tonight...although....as a group they do seem to be a bit less patient than we have seen them....anxiety I think...they are just to anxious up there...trying to do too much.

Boy I did not think they had that many good swings at all. Swung at too much of Nolasco's breaking stuff and they were not going to hit that with a boat oar. Many of those pitches did not even finish as strikes and they were hackin' away at them with less than two strikes.

I do think they are playing kind of tense, anxious baseball right now. Sure it is crunch time but they gotta' be able to play. Farrell should lighten up for one thing. He looks like his head is going to explode and he has been more terse with his media stuff than he has been all year. I would think that if he lightened up a bit, the rest of the team would follow suit.

 

Lester on the other hand is such a contrarian. He seems to be less rigid and happier than I have seen him all year. Go figure! I am not liking their chances to win two straight from LA unless they do lighten up. Thank God we don't have to face the top of their rotation. At this point I would even take winning one and getting the heck outta' here.

Dave O'Brien made an interesting point during the game last night. He said that it hasn't necessarily been the aces of a staff that has given the Sox trouble. It's usually the 2nd, 3rd, even 4th man in the rotation.

I think we hit some balls very hard that found gloves in key situations. Maybe today those balls will find grass. I do like fast games tho, especially for west coast games.
