Very nice win even though it is just SF. Although we usually hate these west coast swings I cannot think of a better time for the Sox to get the hell off the east coast than after the Sunday night debacle.

Those SOB Rays are now 10-2 in one run games since the all-star break. The Red Sox are 2-4. These things are supposed to even out. My feeling is speed and defense are factors. The Red Sox are way down in defense.

Second base, CF, RF defense are all exceptional. SS is above average. 3B is average to above average. 1B hasn't been great, but it hasn't been a problem either.

 

Salty sucks. Gomes is a platoon partner. Besides that, the defense is very very good.

I agree. Defense has not been a sore point for the Red Sox.

Salty just can't throw out base stealers. Ross is a bit better, and a much better defensive catcher all around. He reminds me a lot of Tek.
