Just the secondhand stories I've heard about Ambien are enough to make me never, ever want to take strong sleeping meds.

They're tied in the L column. They don't even have a legitimate "lead". They're only ahead because they've played more games.

 

Anytime the team completely and utterly fails to get runs across the plate, it's lifeless. It's unfocused, and it's not fundamental baseball. They're swinging freely, not paying attention to the situation, and it comes back and bites the s*** out of them.

At the beginning of the season, I had hoped that they would just be competitive. They have been much more than that. After being in first place all season and with the Yankees falling apart, it will be a huge disappointment if we don't win the division. We have won one division in 17 years. The last time that the Yankees fell apart (2008) we let the Rays steal the division from us. I don't want to see that happen again, because just like in 2009 we have to expect the Yankees to roaring back in

2014. If get a 1 game wild card playoff or miss the playoffs entirely, this will be a huge squander. It will leave a sour taste to what has been a surprisingly good season.
