If we don't come back here, these are actually the sorts of games in sequence that really worry me.....can't hit one night...can't pitch the next....once you start inventing multiple ways to lose games, the winning two out of three turns into losing two out of three.

Also, i think most people just want to see him out of the everyday lineup at third, whether that means just being a utility player on the bench or sent down.

Thornton isn't all that hurt though. He was surprised and disappointed when he heard he was put on the DL -- they just needed an extra arm for the pen, and DLing him was the way to do it. He'll be back at the end of the DL trip just fine.

The Globe says this morning Middlebrooks is hitting .316 his last 10 games in AAA, and it's time to bring him up. What's holding them up--other than everybody has been saying this for the last week or so. This team could well collapse if some of the holes aren't plugged soon. The Peavy collapse last night was disconcerting. They could have had Norris who has been lights out for Baltimore.

 

Meanwhile, they also say ARod was booed last night in NY. I watched, and actually there were more cheers--including some fans with Detroit jerseys. Signs supporting ARod on the Yankees side. So why is the media so negative about ARod? It just fuels the notion that Selig is trying to help the Yankees get out of his contract.

Please. It's not a media creation. The NYY fans have had mixed feelings about him at the best of times. They have booed the crap out of him at times he was floundering. Even Girardi said it was 50/50 boos and cheers last night.
