I am not saying I would have been smart enough to make the right decision on this but I don't think the Angels should have Hamilton in RF. If he was done in Center in Texas what made the Angels think he could be in their RF? If anything RF exacerbates the issues the Rangers thought he would have if he continued in CF.

I'm not sure he will get much more than that. Look at Swisher, Upton, and Bourn. All at around the same talent level as Ellsbury, and all got around that money.

Yup, no way Ellsbury gets less than $100 million. We're better off with the draft pick and Bradley in centerfield. I think he'll be more valuable in two years.

I would be surprised if anyone gave Ellsbury 100mm. Very surprised actually. With his injury history, now all he really provides is a .300/.360/.420 line with 8-10 HR pop and 45+ SB. Not a 20mm player and who is going to give him more than 5 years with his injury history?

It's hard to say how the new draft pick rules will affect Ellsbury's value, but I'd expect him to sign a 6-7 year deal at something like $18 million per year.
