Anyway, Jonny will shut down the White Sox lackluster offense. Only two threats are Dunn and Rios. This lineup is the perfect Sox lineup.

Dunn is not a threat against LHP sans the occasional solo homer. He has two hits against them all season. One of which is, you guessed it, a solo homer.

If even one guy gets on in the first inning, Ortiz comes to the plate with the pitcher having to pitch from the stretch early in the game and under the stress of knowing Ortiz is red hot. In part that is what is so annoying about Ells being an auto-out. How may times have we seen the formula that brings Ortiz to the plate in the first turn into runs in the first inning for us and the other guys having to come to the plate in the hole before they even pick up a bat.

I think there is a tendency to forget just how good Professional ML hitter can be and how terrific our pitching has really been. Pitches that are up even on the outer third are just so juicy to really good hitters. All it took was being up a little bit and BANG....three runs.
