This team need to turn around quick. They will be on the road, and if they play as poor as they been, road wins will be tougher to come by. It's a 10 game trip I think.

Looking at the shot of Napoli talking to Ortiz in dugout, he looks taller and bigger than Ortiz. That is one big guy. It's no wonder that he hits the ball so far.

We are not even working this pig's pitch count.

There's certain guys in this lineup that will never work the count, Ellsbury, Salty (always fall behind), Middlebrooks.

Jeez 6-1 and we look more listless than the Jays have looked....the Jays.....a team that has looked like it was on life support from day 1.

Salty swings early in the account, because he needs 3 swings to make contact.

Jesus I am getting tired of pitchers setting new career high water marks against us. "Most pitches Jenkins has ever thrown in a starting role"!!!

And down goes Ells again...somebody wake up Farrell.....please.....

That last pitch to Ellsbury was right down the pipe -- a total cookie and he missed it by a lot-- at least 6 inches. WTF! He looked like a blind man swinging at that. Earth to Farrell! Earth to Farrell!! Let some one else make the line up tomorrow-- maybe a sports writer.

He just makes bad contact even if he able to put it in play. That probably a DP ball if in play.

7- run rule in effect. Farrell learned it from Tito.

The FO must be running the show. Never thought Tito was his own manager in Boston.

Hopefully Ellsbury doesn't suck so bad that he loses his draft pick compensation.

All he has to do is turn down the Sox offer. There is no type A/B FA anymore.

The day of rest is not for Ortiz. It's for Napoli. Ortiz just benefits. That's an expensive way to give Napoli a rest. And Gomes on the bench, too. Cherington really has signed 3 DHs.

We still have to offer him like 12-13 million for 1 year though right? He might not be so quick to turn that down anymore.

It's about 14M this year. If he sucks, he'll probably take it with Boras advice. But if he is playing like he is right now, there's little chance they offer him one.

It's the average salary of the top, I believe, 100 players. Last year it was 13.3mm. This year I think it's more in the 14-15mm range.

With his injuries and if his poor performance keeps up, he'd be hard pressed to find that value on the market in terms of AAV.

He may accept the offer and try to go on a pillow contract and rebuild his value next year.
