Lester was great. 7 IP, 1 ER, not sure on the K's

 

Hanrahan 0 IP, 2 BB, replaced by Uehara in the 9th who got all three outs.

Not saying you watch them. My point was the Sox game was on Fox and you still couldn't watch it. Good thing is, tomorrows game is on TBS. Look for me behind the Rays dugout.

Travis Wood isn't so bad either, and their offense has been doing a bit better as of late.

 

Nothing is as cringeworthy as trying to watch Marmol though.

Hanrahan needs some time off closing. They should rotate the closer. Cripes, they got 3 other guys who can close--Uehara, Bailey, Tazawa. Rotate 'em. Don't lean too hard on one.

 

Ells picked a good spot to finally steal a base at home. Use that speed, Farrell.

I don't know about "on the outs". Can't give up on the guy. I would not be surprised if they moved him around a little after two back to back like that. Let him have a good 7th inning or something before calling on him in the 9th inning again.

 

Ya' gotta' think the pressure of trying to right the previous performance got to him a little and helped produce this performance. Farrell does not strike me as the kind of guy that will just move a pitcher around without talking to him. If he does move him I suspect Farrell will tell him why and what his expectations would be for a return to closing.

He might b/c he enjoys where he is and the pitching coaches surrounding him. I dunno. Its not like Red Sox are poor. They got plenty to give Lester if he keeps performing to his average.
