And people wonder why I want to see these kids give it a shot. David Adams is better than his .200 AVG and Zoilo isn't as good as he is today, but both of these guys have a big league future and we need to see if its with us or elsewhere. I'd rather see these kids fight for it than watch Vernon "the corpse" Wells or Reid "I suck" Brignac play.

Oh good Lord I have heard it all.

When Youk got back, the Yanks were going to get a huge boost because Adams sucked. Now Youk is gone and Adams is better than his .200 average

You don't remember things well, do you? They have meds for that now.

Regardless, Zoilo continues to hit well. Ride the hot hand

Why did the Yankees release Chien-Ming Wang? He had a 2.33 ERA, 1.16 WHIP at Triple-A and he now has a 2.61 ERA at he major league level after shutting down the Rangers and O's in consecutive starts.

Kind of funny that the comparisons between the Yankees pitching and Red Sox pitching have stopped. And I don't bring that up to suggest that the Yankees definitely have better pitching than the Red Sox, but just to point out that when certain people are quick to point out statistical comparisons that favor the Red Sox over the Yankees yet say nothing when it changes, well maybe the criticisms of Jacko should lessen.

The statistical comparisons have stopped because a certain someone stopped claiming the Red Sox were peaking and would be at .500 by the All-Star Break and the Yankees were going to run away with the division.

Why would I go in to a thread about a third place team to rub salt in the wound with statistical comparisons? There's no debate about who the better team is.

For purposes of credibility, considering you were happy to beat the drum when the statistics favored your narrative.

Purposes of credibility? The only reason I brought the statistics up in the first place was because someone was repeatedly claiming the Red Sox offense was inflated by BABIP and the Yankees pitching was much better. It would be trollish if someone was no longer making those claims I came in here anyways to point out that advanced statistics still favor the Red Sox.

The point is that you made the argument, more than once, that the Red Sox had better pitching than the Yankees. Now the Yankees have better pitching than the Red Sox, but you haven't said anything. On it's own, I don't really care, it's a message board, who gives a s***. Except this is the sort of inconsistency that Jacko has been criticized for, repeatedly, especially by you.

I made an argument, more than once, that the Red Sox were pitching better than the Yankees and playing better defense. And it was a direct response to Jackso was claiming the Yankees would run away with the division then they got their hitters back. Nowhere did I say they were going to pitch better than the Yankees the entire year.

If I've been inconsistent, then quote where it happened.

I agree, you never said they would pitch better than the Yankees the rest of the year.

But don't you think it's a bit inconsistent to point out the statistics at a point in time when they favored the Red Sox, but not point them out at a point in time when they favor the Yankees? If you don't then we've reached an impasse, because I do find that to be inconsistent.

I pointed out the Red Sox advanced pitching statistics twice all year, both times were direct responses to Jackso claiming the Red Sox were lucky to be playing well. I haven't brought up any of the advanced statistics since May 14th, because that's the last time Jackso tried to claim the Red Sox were playing well because of luck.

I think you're really going out on a limb here. The only thing that would be inconsistent would be if I started coming in to the thread unsolicited and pointing out the statistics in response to no one claiming the Red Sox were getting lucky. That would also be trollish for me to do about a third place team.

I don't dispute any of those facts, but I still find it inconsistent, whether it was solicited or unsolicited. On one occasion you took to point something out, but on another, once the facts changed, you didn't. But ok, this has become cyclical, and there's little point in continuing.

Let me explain where I'm coming from, though. This thread should be used to talk about baseball, specifically Yankees games. That's why I come to this forum, to talk about baseball, the Yankees, and the Red Sox. What I don't come here to do is sit back and watch petty fights between posters about the least meaningful things possible. This thread has dissolved, for the most part, into constant bickering between Jacko/Divinity and the Red Sox fans about the inconsistency of the former duo's fandom. That's annoying on its own, but particularly annoying when it seems like not only is one side being petty but also hypocritical.

Now fine, if you don't see it as inconsistent or hypocritical I have no issue with that, I see no reason to belabor the point. But can we please return this thread to a place where it's just about Yankees games, and leave the other stuff either in different threads or cut it out altogether? And this isn't just directed at SR, but to everyone. It would be more enjoyable for me, and I think for everyone, if we stuck to talking about baseball.

Seems strange to make a personal argument about me being inconsistent if you want to return this thread to baseball. I can't speak for other posters, but I make fun of Jackso because he makes ridiculous claims with nothing to back them up like "The Red Sox will be a .500 team by the All-Star Break", and logs on to the site for no other reason than to go in Red Sox game threads and say "Booyah!" or "Bet you wish you had Paps now!" when the Red Sox lose. Those aren't baseball discussions, that's trolling. So when his baseless predictions blow up in his face, or the Yankees blow a game I occasionally come in here to and throw those predictions and trolling back in his face.

I get where you're coming from Y228, and I apologize. I can see your frustration, but you have to understand we get the same treatment. Jacko constantly trolls us, so that's why we return the favor. We don't give him s*** for no reason. I'll stop calling Divinity out, but it just annoys me how he talks so much s*** only when it's convenient for him. He's literally the definition of inconsistency. You are well respected around here y228, but you need to understand this is a Red Sox forum. You are in our territory and you know there is a rivalry between the two. If this was a Yankees forum, I'd feel bad, but it's not. I agree talking baseball would make the thread more useful. Even though bashing the Yankees is super fun lol.

Obviously the personal complaint is supposed to reflect my larger point. I'm sure that's not lost on you. Anyway, all I'd ask is that the trolling stops altogether. I hope that's not too much to ask.

Maybe part of the issue, for me, is that I have no ill feelings toward the Red Sox, so I don't feel the need to revel in their failures or bemoan their successes. So I think it's a bit silly when others do it, on both sides. But even with that, it still doesn't need to dissolve into going after other posters directly.

EDIT: In response to RSFFL.

I can't guarantee anything, but I'll try. Most arguments on here are pretty childish. We're all adults here, but if Jacko/Divinty throws shots, pretty sure it's not going to stop. I'm done with this and it seems you are too. So lets talk baseball and forget about what happened earlier.

I don't see how me pointing out xFIP twice in May is related to trolling. That in my mind is good baseball discussion. As RedSoxFanforLife pointed out, the trolling in this thread is almost always a direct response to Jackso trolling in the Red Sox game thread. If you want Red Sox fans to stop saying "Booyah!" when the Yankees lose, you should probably talk to the person they're responding to when they say it.

Oh, I never claimed pointing out xFIP was trolling lol. It's quite the opposite.

On the actual trolling, how about we just all stop?
