What does that have to do with lowered velocity?

Meaning he's still as dominant, which is the most important thing.

Man if this game were Detroit vs the Red Sox heads would be exploding over here over the love the announcers are showing to Verlander

Cardinals rotation is all out of Wach (reference to their SP Wacha), so the Dodgers have a shot at a 2-0 lead before they even play in LA.

Big blow for the Dodgers. Their best bet was two wins from Greinke and Kershaw each, since Wainwright against any other pitcher is pretty much an auto-win for the Cards.

Kershaw is being overused. He's going again tonight. This will come back and haunt him eventually. Meanwhile, Wacha has looked pretty good, so I wouldn't be surprised to see another Cardinals win tonight.

Kershaw is pitching on regular rest this time.

Also, when Ellis got thrown out at the plate it looks like he was never even tagged so the Cards got a break there.

Ellis himself said he was out:

"Yeah. It was pretty obvious," Ellis said. "I think everybody saw that."

Carpenter? What are you even talking about? He's been injured since the beginning of the season.

Anyways, stick a fork in the Dodgers, since they're almost guaranteed to lose against Wainwright and then it's just a matter of time, barring a miracle.

I wish i could. The way the Cards are playing right now, the Sox would have a much easier time against the Dodgers.

I just noticed that the Cardinals have 4 righties in the rotation, whereas the Dodgers have 2 of each. Cards could be a better matchup.

Tigers also have 4 righties. Cards have Wainwright, Wacha, Kelly, and Lynn and Tigers have Scherzer, Verlander, Sanchez, and Fister. Not much of a difference.

With the exception of Wainwright, none of those guys hold a candle to Scherzer, Verlander, Sanchez.

Cards have a better offense and BP. The Dodgers are without Kemp, Ethier is hobbled and Hanley has lingering issues. How are the Dodgers a harder matchup again?

Wacha has potential. He has been great all year and has a bright future. He's a comparison to Sanchez. Wainwright is at best a solid Verlander.
