Howdy, I see you've noticed me for the first time in a month.

its not on purpose though .. must be the timing of what i post which i have been doing a little less lately.... todays lineup seems a little bizarre eh.. why are we not using Lavarnway still for more games at catcher is beyond me ...

btw I lived in CT for 4 months, umm wow cant seem to remember the town name i worked in.. but i lived in Oakville CT. how was your vaca trip?

More evidence of disconnect and incompetence in the organization surfaced today when V told reporters the search for a pitching coach in the offseason was rushed.

You would think that an organization that witnessed their pitching completely collapse in the last month of the season would prioritize the search for a pitching coach and not rush to a decision because "we had run out of time".

Unless they plan on renewing V and/or Niemman for next year, they had better start that search earlier this season. This is not to say the pitchers deserve no blame, but the procrastination by this FO in the managerial/pitching coach search last offseason must be more thorough and thought out beginning this October.

Oakville is okay, a little north is Watertown then Litchfield and then the little podunk town I live in, Goshen. Only problem with Oakville is you can still smell Waterbury from there.

I'm in East Hartford and I can still smell Waterbury. Although sometimes it could be Bridgeport, they're both so strong it's hard to tell them apart.

I grew up right next to Goshen in one of the towns you mentioned above

Ooof. I would say Bridgeport wins that one, whenever I get jobs in Fairfield county I take rte 8 to 95 and on mid summer mornings Bridgeport smells like someone is burning a giant pile of urine soaked diapers.

You sure it's not Hartford?

I went to a party in Goshen once at this house on top of a hill. Sober, I remember climbing up the front yard to be a challenge. Drunk, I remember thinking that I had practically conquered Everest.

Reminds me of the hilarious incident with a cop at another party, this one in North Stonington. It was a kegger, outdoors in the winter. The whole driveway was covered in snow and angled so steeply that you could break the sound barrier on a sled if you went down it. The neighbors apparently called the police due to the noise. Two cruisers showed up, and one guy came up the driveway to talk to those of us on the front porch. He walked along the yard next to the pavement, so as to keep traction, but when he got to the top where it leveled off, he stepped onto the driveway to get to the sidewalk. He hit a patch of ice, landed on his ass, and slid down the driveway (which was empty due to no one being able to park on the incline with the snow and ice) on his back like a startled tortoise, and came to a stop by slamming both of his feet into the side of his own car all the way at the bottom. Some people giggled but no one dared laugh too loudly because we knew he'd probably come down hard on the party. He got up, looked up at us, and said "Keep the noise down, alright?" and left. I imagine he was far too embarrassed to expect any of us to take him seriously after watching his impromptu sledding adventure.

I know Connecticut like the inside of my own home. I hate Hartford County and want to move somewhere else in the state whenever I can. Hartford sucks, East Hartford sucks, Manchester sucks. South Windsor, Glastonbury, and Wethersfield are okay. West Hartford is meh.

That being said, I would spend 100 years in the North End of Hartford before I spent an hour in Bridgeport. There are, in my opinion at least, five s***** places in Connecticut, at least in the sense that they are to be avoided. Hartford, New Britain, Bridgeport, Waterbury, and New Haven. Hartford is by far the best of all of them. I drove through Bridgeport once with my doors locked and windows up, and when I left I still had a switchblade in my thigh and hepatitis B.

Tonight is a rare no lose situation as far as I am concerned. If the Sox win, great! We get to see our guys play some winning ball. If we lose, we will help the Angels pull out of their tailspin, right their ship and be a big threat to the Yankees in the Playoffs.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing the Angels get into the playoffs. They are the most legitimate threat to knocking the Yankees out, IMO. And I'd like to see someone new represent the AL this year. Texas had their best opportunity to win last season and will have to win this year without Lewis starting and Feliz in the back of the bullpen.

Hopefully the Angels, Tigers, and White Sox get in and we can have some redemption for the way the Rays and Orioles ended our season last year.

Also, over the last two years Texas has had Cliff Lee and CJ Wilson walk away.

Lee was tremendous in the 2010 playoffs save for Game 1 of the WS. Wilson had a decent playoffs in 2010 but was terrible last season. If it wasn't for Wilson's good regular season in 2010 and his tremendous regular season in 2011, the Rangers don't make the playoffs either year. The Angels we're trailing on them down to the wire last season and Wilson kept the Rangers from being a WC team.

He did so much while he was in Texas, but all Rangers fans remember of him was his 2011 playoffs and the fact that he is from California and wanted to play for his home town team. The Rangers have next to nothing to hang their hat on as a franchise outside of the past few years and Wilson was an intregal part of that. Why Rangers fans despise him so much is beyond me.

For this season, they have to hope Dempster/ Harrison thrives and Holland repeats his performance from last years playoffs to have a shot past the 1st round.

Ha, Mike Trout strikes out in his first AB. Shockingly, this is the first time the Sox and Angels have played in 2012.

Last year they were done after 5 weeks. Weird scheduling.

Pesky tribute was amazing. All Sox are wearing the number 6 tonight.

It looks like the Angels have a patch on the front of their uniforms too.
