We scored 9 runs today so we should have had a chance' date=' but Beckett kicked our legs out from under us. [b']What did he have to say in the post game presser?[/b]

Not a lot. He did appear to be somewhat uncharacteristically humble though. Said he was healthy and didn't blame anything on injuries.

When asked about the crowd booing him he just said "I can't control that". IMO, He can control that by not puking up runs in the first inning. His first inning ERA this year is 10!

A big FU to Beckett from me today!

You sure? How many times this season did we say that? I'm usually very optimistic but f*** this team right now.

I think its about time we took a mental break. I am ready to do that. not going to watch or try to read the standings next 2 weeks.

I boil my blood pressure for this piss poor team.. not doing that anymore.

if i watch games i would rather watch athletics or angels play.. :(:dunno:

The Sox are a train wreck and are so frustrating to watch but it's like impossible(at least for me) not to watch them play. You just can't resist it. Plus since I only get to watch about 2 games a week I try to enjoy it as much as possible.

Whatever we say has no impact on the team. Let's just look to the immediate future. We can easily get back to .500 with Doubront and Buchholz and if we do well enough on this trip we can move up in the standings. We have 3 with the O's and 3 with the Skanks. If we go 4-2 combined we gain at least one game on each team. The Yankees are on the edge of collapsing and the O's have the same problems as the Sox but less injuries. I am expecting at least 3 out of 4 from the Tribe this weekend and as much as a 7-3 road trip.

What more can u say about this team this year?Beckett and Lester have been pathetic and thats putting it mildly!!Another season without no post-season.

I think Valentine wont be back.I will be shock if he does. This doesnt fall on the manager though. These players have stunk for awhile now!!

Josh should have said my fastball is straight and 91 mph, and very hittable.

He could also be honest about whether he is in shape or not.

V should quit. He can't really do anything to help this team. The die was cast pre-season.

It was useless to hire him. If the FO was going to keep the power, they should have hired Sveum.

I am almost ready to throw in the towel and root home the Orioles and the Rays to overtake the Skanks. At least that might be interesting. The Yankees missing the playoffs would be very enjoyable. Is it pathetic that I have been reduced to that? Yes, it is, and I blame the FO for building a team with starting pitching that was so thin that under performance by two pitchers completely wrecked the season.

This Sox team is bad and boring. Their top two pitcher flat out stink. They are not reverting to any means or anything like that. They are just stinking up the joint, and this team will go nowhere until they part ways with the both of them.

One thing we need to think about relative to V and his handling of pitchers in this game is that the bullpen has been somewhat abused in the last few games.

I am not sure it had anything to do with the way V handled Beckett cause V has left the starters in to long all season. It should have been clear to anybody watching the game that even in the early innings after the first, Beckett was getting by because the Rangers were helping him out of innings and because he was able to use his curve ball effectively. In truth he was throwing gopher ball after gopher ball up there and the Rangers simply were not hitting them until, bing-bang-boom and out they went one after the other.

If I were V though, right about the time when I starting posting that Beckett was getting away with murder and simply could not get away with this much longer, I would have been ready to pull Beckett the very next jam he got into. There is a chance we could have pulled this game out if V had done that. The lost game is truly all on Beckett though.....just awful pitching....terrible for the entire stint. If he had not discovered that curve ball the Rangers would have been into double digits by the 4 inning. That is how bad Beckett was today.

its the same with me, i get to watch maybe 1 game a week, but that game turns out to be such a stomach churning loss.. anyways i know i said it but deep inside I still want them to go on a freaking run.. but that wont happen till Beckett makes some changes on whatever he is doing wrong.

he cant pitch to Texas Yankees Detroit. so in short against the powerhouse we are toast no matter how far we go into the regular season infact there is very minute chance we make it this year and i am not holding my breath for it..

agreed the FO is responsible for this sorry state of a team they have put up.

you wouldnt believe, but i dreamt last night that we got Bartolo Colon for a AA guy. and he was shining in his first start..

cannot believe its come down to this.. i generally never ever remember my dreams.. :(
