Remember a couple seasons ago when everyone was clamoring to trade Clay?

I really hope Crawford turns things around, just like Clay has, so we can all laugh at the people who want to get rid of him after one bad season due to acclimation and now injury. Signs a long-term contract and the first year isn't great, and suddenly a decade of being a top-tier player in Tampa is erased. I hope in 2013-14 everyone realizes how ridiculous it was to be talking about trading away Crawford so early into things.

Anyways, great to see Clay pitching like an ace. If Lester can get back on track the Sox may just make the playoffs yet.

You mean months?

I just read something that said weei.com is reporting that salty and Aviles are getting some interest from other teams.

Keep salty.

As far as Mike goes, I'll pay for the plane ticket myself.

Now let Buccholz finish the game. 108 pitches thru 8. But we don't do things like that around here.

I like starters going deep but there is really no reason to risk it here. Buch already shook all the hands and got his confidence injection. The bullpen is fresh and might even need some innings. Thank Buch and let him get some rest.

Hey its the mad man. He better get his innings in because there are a good many Yankee games left and I do not think you will see Padilla in a Yankee game again unless it is a blow out either way. I believe V has lost all confidence in Padilla's ability to control himself and maintain his focus mainly because of Tex. I don't blame V and suspect he is right.

 Well' date=' yeah, but I was talking about I think 08 or 09 when he started off the season by pitching terribly.[/quote']

Haha yeah I remember that. And I wasn't even a member of this thread. I just remember everyone crushing him.

And I remember when the Guardians wanted to trade Cliff Lee for Clay Buchholz straight up, and Theo said no.

There's bad blood between them right?

Yea there is way way bad blood between them and I think we can see what happens when Padilla gets his blood up.....he is a whack job for sure. To be frank I have been somewhat surprised that he was not lost it at other times but he clearly has no control of his temper, his pitches his anything when up against the Yanks...clearly instigated by the bad blood between himself and Tex.

Well this sucks...a real break for Ace would have been not having to get up at all

It's a 7-3 lead why's going on I am just seeing updates. Not watching the game

Well, Gio would have required Middlebrooks to be traded. I wouldn't have been comfortable with that.

Kuroda was a good option, though.

Gio is a lot better right now than most people expected. Maybe because he's in the NL.

Kuroda was overpriced--but loose change for NY.

The Red Sox would be better off right now if they hadn't traded for AdGon or signed CC.

And still had Youkilis to play 1B. Plus Rizzo, who looks like a star.

No guarantee they would have had to give up Middlebrooks for Gio. He wasn't the player he is now. They had other pieces they dealt for Bailey. The FO just traded for the wrong guy.

They were stuck on starting Bard. Wrong again.

Padiila allowed the first two hitters of the 9th to get on with nobody out. So one swing at that point and it could easily have been a 1 run ball game. V HAD to get somebody up and the natural choice was Ace.

DP play ball came next followed by K and Padiila was out of the modest jam.

Yeah, Gonzalez has been a bust. MVP candidate last season, but early-to-mid season struggles this year have doomed him for the rest of the contract. He's never going to be the same. They should never have signed him. Ortiz can play first.

People complaining about Adrian infuriates me the most out of all the stupid things that've been said about this team. It's like last year never happened.

Rizzo has a few good weeks and all of a sudden he's an MVP and we f***ed up.

wouldn't mind seeing salty, aviles traded. would open up catching for Lav, SS for Iggy.

Shoppy is the guy who may get dealt.

tweets say Sweeney not traded. Garza may get moved.
