The Red Sox really need this win tonight... When you get 7 spectacular innings from your number 5 guy' date=' you have to win. Especially when ground needs to be made up.[/quote']

By #5 you mean #7 or 8.

Man all over me tonight. What's the deal?!?
Nah, you know you are cool with me. Just frustrated at our guys making this suck ass pitcher look like Gregg maddox.

He is the number 5 guy now' date=' is he not?[/quote']

I'd peg him as the #6 man in the 6 man rotation right now, no? I can't imagine him taking Morales or Doubront's slot.

Well if you are looking for a rational for the increased K's it is right in a number of the posts made since Salty made a subtle change in his approach to plate appearances. He has gone to swinging for the fences every cut. That is why his HR totals were climbing until pitchers caught on and started to pitch him where the bat ain't gonna' be.

They have made it much harder now for that approach to pay off but I still think it is the best way for Salty to go. A few more ground outs instead of K's not gonna' make any real difference.

I agree 100%. They've got a bad habit of making bad pitchers look elite.

He has been throwing better than Doubront if you ask me.

Well he's got a great case. He chews up innings, gets it and throws it, and has a 1.67 ERA since that abomination of a start against BAL.

And the BAL start was going well until he got spiked.
