The bullpen is going to decide this game.

 

Nova is at 80 pitches and Lester is well past that so yeah, bulpen will decide things.

Do you remember that episode of Manny being Manny?

They were playing the Yankees and Manny refused to play (the real reason was contract issues: he was afraid the team would exercise its option for the upcoming year and he wanted to become a FA) saying his knee hurt. So the Sox ordered an MRI and when they asked Ramirez which knee hurt, he couldn't remember. So they MRI'd BOTH knees.

Despite it being an incredibly selfish move, I still laughed my ass off.

 

The Manny era, clubhouse-wise, seems like paradise compared to this.

Aviles might be a bottomless decline as well cause this is about pitchers figuring out how to pitch to him. Unless he finally starts beating them, they are just going to keep feeding him those same pitches until he proves he can hit them.

For a long time, I think thats true. Winning will do that for a team. However, eventually Manny's welcome wore thin. I heard the team had a meeting and decided that even though they would miss his production the team would be better off without him.

There is evidence that this clubhouse scene is pretty bad, as it should be for a team that is not winning. I sure wouldn't want to see a bunch of guys smiling and partying in this situation. They SHOULD be unhappy.

By the time Lester is done the starters will be 30th out of 30 in ERA. Felix was the only guy that helped get the number to dip a tiny bit since the Yanks came to town.

 

Three LH pitchers in a row in Fenway to what is a very strong RH hitting lineup has worked out real good too.
