Well this is going to just about assure that the best we can get this weekend is a split as I don't see much chance of the Sox taking both ends of a double header tomorrow. We are more likely to come out of tomorrow 1-2 on the series and needing the Sunday game just to split.

They had to have this game tonight and once again the starting pitching let them down. We had a shot at it cause the Yanks starting pitching was nothing to write home about. Then the Yanks pen out-pitched our pen and that was that.

The whole ownership group is a bunch of girlie men. Luchhino is the only one who would not fall into the total nerd category. The lady owners in baseball like Joan Payson and Marge Schott would break those guys in half.

That leads into a thought I have about effecting a change in Sox ownership without Henry even having to sell. Simple plan...Henry's wife Linda kills him. Nothing spectacular, just slow acting poison. The best part is, nobody would even notice Henry was dead for several weeks, even if he was out in public. It'd be Weekend at Bernie's 3.

62 of the next 79 games are vs teams with winning records. The sox have a tough road

It's okay, you guys will make the post season but that's all. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Beckett might as well go back to chicken and beer. He pitched better when indulging himself in fatty food and alcohol. Maybe he should take up smoking and chew. He sucks. He should have been dumped after last season when his value was high. I fear that the Yankees will bury us this weekend. I had so looked forward to this weekend when I got the tickets for Saturday and Sunday. Now I dread it. I was at the 9-0 game that they blew in April. It was like watching a powerhouse team pummel a college team. We didn't look like we belonged on the field with them. Two months later, it looks the same way. We lost by 2 runs, but I felt like our guys were waiting to lose. There was no excitement from the team or in the crowd. Maybe it's just me.:dunno:

It's okay, at least you won't have to wait until the last day of the regular season to be out of a playoff spot this year.

Is the 27 rings line on your script tonight as well? We love that one.

This team has lacked testicles for some time now; it's difficult to root for them. How do you win game without sack or heart?

Big win today!

Don't kid yourself. The time for big wins ended long ago. Who are the Yankees actually competing against in the ALE this year?

Go Rangers.

They are easy to hate, these Red Sox, but they are still our team. Not sure if you were around to root for them in the 70s and 80s, but man, talk about frustrating! Every single year it was the same thing. "Wait 'till next year". At least now they have some good players to build around and the potential to compete for a ring in a couple of years if they play their cards right.

Rangers easily expose yankees pitching. a half assed Red Sox line up did tonight.

Yeah, I was around, actually lived closer to the Holy Land back then. Didn't seem to mind the losing so much then, but quite honestly I've come to expect more from my team, though I still hate the Yankees with equal tenacity.

I hate losing and it seems I'm rooting for them just because their "our team." I wish someone would start a fight.

Honestly, I don't think its expecting too much for this organization to consistently win. With the resources they have available, they should be able to at least contend for a playoff spot each year and see where that leads them. Now, they are working on a 3rd straight year without a playoff appearance and are causing even the most die hard of fans to lose competitive interest due to the way they go about losing. They simply aren't easy to watch lately.

Clearly, pitching is a glaring issue.

Salty & Gonzo & Papi really came thru huge today. Gonzo with the 2b and not just singles! Papi going to the opp. field all night long! Salty with the blast! I mean, f*** yah. Those guys were going hard as ever tonight. Even the rookie, Gomez with an RBI and Nava with the kick ass assist. Offense & defense were on target and giving it all for sure.

Too bad pitching i.e. Beckett was shittastrophy. Argggh!! Cherry needs to make an effort for Hernandez and plan to resign him too. No rentals. If rentals is all we can get than obviously this is not our WS year. Sure, PO could happen but no real threat this red sox team (pitching) will be in the PO (yoda). My guess is Cherry brings no one to town that is significant by the deadline but will make a move during the offseason.

Our FO is embarrassing to say the least. Too cheap to get professional players as we play minor leaguers who aren't ready for the major.

Buckett gave up 5 ER in the 1 inning. We get better results from our BP than from our "aces" as they call themselves.

It will be another year that the bankee$ spend $200 million plus to play 2 more games than the Pirates.

It would mean something if you guys didn't spend 175 million yourself...

I've said this before. Their starters are s***ing the bed early. What's the problem? Not heated up enough? Inadequate preparation? I wish those guys in the media would start asking some questions.
