I doubt it happens again. Better they make these mistakes in blowouts and learn from them than in a 1 run game. It's stupid but nothing to go nuts over, at least not if you ask me.

3rd base coach definitely stopped Ross. I would have to say its on 3rd base coach. He had the play in front of him and Ross was depending on him. Agons could have seen Ross stop and might have tried to get back to 1st. Not sure where Agons thought he was going once Ross stopped.....about all Agons could have done was stop and try to get back to 1st.

I think that overall Valentine has done a pretty good job with certain parts of his job-bunting when indicated, encouraging aggressive baserunning, removing pitchers in a timely manner and using his pen wisely (and forming it from a bunch of rejects), and pinch hitting when indicated. Francona would likely have cost us several games already because all he ever did was sit and spit out tobacco juice when he should have acted.

Not really AGons fault here. He's running, Ross heads to 3b, but retreats when AGon is halfway to 2nd.
