MacDime and Lillibridge.......... thanks Bobby V' date=' playing two minors player.[/quote']

Lillibridge is 3/4 against Laffey. :dunno:

I actually like playing Lillibridge. Nava doesn't hit LHP all that well.

Small sample size, but he is hitting .080 against lefties this season.

and..................?

And....he's 3/4 against Laffey. And Kalish is a career .229/.245/.333 hitter vs LHP.

Not sure what else you want to see. Lillibridge can hit LHP well, even if his stats this year don't necessarily back it up. Just like Adrian Gonzalez isn't a .260 hitter.

Dice-K I hope you do understand : we need a win tonight! If you don't , please go and do something else.

He's going with the righty bats against the southpaw. Supposedly Lillibridge hits lefties pretty well' date=' but his numbers this year against lefties are horrendous.[/quote']

I agree. I think this is just Bobby V throwing him into the lineup to see if a change of scenery will be good. We all knew he would get at least one start. I would rather see Nava in the lineup, but as long as we get the W I will be happy.

Prediction of the day: Pedroia goes deep.

I predict that SFF will be yelling at umps and screaming about bitch hits by the second inning.

Just kidding with you, SFF. You are a great fan and an entertaining and informative poster.

I am thinking about going to the GCL Red Sox game tomorrow at 12 to see if Crawford is playing since he is supposed be because of his rehab assignment. I am also thinking about going Saturday at 10 to see a game to see if Ellsbury is playing. It should be interesting to watch them during their rehab.

Never mind about Ellsbury. I heard that he is going to single A.

Question for y'all: What food should I order for the game? Parents left me with the house until Friday.

A pizza is always good to order to watch the game. It is fast and will fill you.

Why the new guy tonight? We have not won a series against an AL east team in so long that I cannot even remember it anymore. I know he is supposed to be pretty good against LH pitchers and Laffey is a laugh but I would rather give us every possible chance to win this game....dice is already a handicap in my view.

And for the Doj, just a few stats to back up my Laird comparison...

Laird

Age 22 season- AA- .291/.355/.523 23HR

Middlebrooks

Age 22 season- AA- .302/.345/.520 21HR

In 2011, Laird played in AAA and was pretty average, with a .710OPS and 16HR, but the lack of patience was exposed at the higher level with Laird only drawing 17 walks. He did win the IL version of the gold glove at 3b, though.

Both can field their position. Both can hit the ball out of the park. Both have a problem with plate discipline. I think both of them end up as either utility guys (Laird can play 1B, 2B, and the corner OF slots as well) or a lower tier starting 3b. Neither of them will put up Youkilis or ARod (newer version) type offensive seasons, because their patience is incredibly limited.

In a year such as this one' date=' where our chances of making a good run into the postseason are not good, it makes sense to trade Youkilis for whatever we can get for him and give Middlebrooks his ABs in the major league. I realize that our FO is not going to do this, but then again, they do a lot of stupid things.[/quote']

Haven't been in the "in game" for a while, just checking in to say hello. Thinking Lillibridge gets the start only to see if he can hit lefties, McD the same, otherwise there is no need to keep them around.

DiceK, well, we know the game won't be speedy...
