make him work nava.

What is the record for most pitches seen in an AB/game?

found it

On May 12, 2004, Cora had an 18-pitch at-bat against Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Matt Clement. Facing a 2-1 count, Cora fouled off 14 straight pitches before finally hitting a home run. It's the longest documented at-bat since baseball statisticians began keeping track of pitch counts in the mid-1980s.

He is NOT the second or third best pitcher on our staff. Check the statistics. Based on ERA he has the 10th best ERA on our staff out of the 18 pitchers who have pitched for the team this year coming into this game. Its worse now. And our overall pitching has sucked-12th in the AL of 14 teams. So he is a mediocre pitcher' date=' an average pitcher, on a poor pitching team. Where does that put him, exactly?[/quote']

He does lead the league in run support.

He could become good, I agree.

However, if you are dealing with the here and now, he is decidedly mediocre-with the potential to be better. I am not buying any arguements that he is better than mediocre right now.

He's better then what the other two that we have on the rotation; Dice-k and Buchholtz. I never said he was better then mediocre. Just that he's been one of our best pitchers this year.

I didn't say starter or rotation once in my posts.

No, I’m saying your expectations are too high for a 5th slot rookie starter. He’s had great games and that just goes out the window for you because he is laying an egg. What pitcher on this staff hasn’t done that this year? I’d go as far as say he’s been our second or third best pitcher this year.

"Pitcher"=any pitcher on our staff.

Look, you don't want to admit that Doubront has been mediocre this year. Thats fine. Believe what you want despite that proof I offered you.

Time to move on.

Thats not saying much, I'm afraid. Our overall pitching has sucked this year.

Sorry, I didn't say it twice. Where are my other post where I say either starter or rotation?

"President of the I would bang Clay Buchholz's wife club"

my guess is you are going to be one of many presidents of that club

We're all in that club.

Her cooking apparently blew out his intestines.

She is blowing him back to health for sure to make up for it.

This has got to be one of the funniest games we have seen since....well actually only since that whacky Miami game last week.

The Sox played some incredibly sloppy baseball against the Cubs too. Fully worthy of two last place teams, which they were at the time.
