OK..I understand. I thought you might be trying to claim that W-L is a good indicator of performance. I also think its OK to just enjoy the game without having to quote stats all the time..just have a subjective opinion. Thats fine with me.

Oh absolutely. Sometimes I know a lot of us get too deep into stats that we can't enjoy the game like we should.

Yeah John DeWan's Fielding Bible talks about how Ross struggles with big walls. Well, we have the anti-big-wall in RF.

Wait, that's not a stat is it? I want to make sure everyone understands.

Books are hard too. Are there pictures? And does every sentence rhyme?

I do think Ross was bunting on his own. He has struggled against RH pitchers and I think he figured to bunt for a hit or earn the sacrifice if not.

One reason I did not think Pedey was bunting on his own was because he believes himself to be one of the best RBI guys the Sox have at a time when they have been struggling for runs (he is by the way). Left to his own devices I think he would have hit away because in his view it would have been the best thing he could have done for the team. Get a hit...drive in a run.

Hopefully some reporter will ask V about both in the presser instead of the usual ******** questions they ask.

Pumpsie' date=' he was the one talking about results, not me. If you want to ignore stats and oversimplify things, then you have absolutely nothing to complain about.[/quote']

All I said was that stats are never a sure shot to predict something. There is a certain amount of chaos in all of the order. To constantly predict the statistical outcome of an event WHILE said event is happening is boring as hell.

Shake it off Ryan.....although easier said than done....funny to have to say to a guy at this level...."next time two hands". Baseball never changes.

Yeah, you can read statistics that someone else compiled and cut and paste them.

Has MENSA been in touch with you yet?

ANd that is the downside of young players.

Brennan, I gotta say, I enjoy stats even during games. Not everyone likes that. People like watching games in different ways. Its all good in my book-as long as it doesn't deteriorate into personal stuff.

Ryan hasn't done anything the rest of these Red Sox outfielders have done. Dropping the ball is the it thing to do.

If you really want to be stylin' you have to boot it as well.

Good point. I am not as open minded as I should be. To each his own.

One thing we all want is a winning team, let's work with that.

I can agree with this. We can all get along.

At least we can when we're winning.

Here's to a win streak.

Everyone but Jacko that is.

Well see...it takes a real pro...an established vet to doink it and then boot it.

Actually to the point, even established pros are often made to look foolish learning to play in Fenway's outfield. Hopefully there won't be a practical result that costs us theis game.
