Kalish coming up tonight. Sweet! Let's hope that's the beginning of reinforcements starting to trickle back.

Kalish will be a welcome addition for sure.

Damn!! Beat me to it!!!

Unfortunately, Sweeney is hitting the DL. Sweeney's just got a little toe issue. Probably will be resolved in the 15 days he's out. Can't imagine him being out much, if any, longer than that.

I am absolutely pumped to see Kalish up.

That's not a good example. Those teams don't have a chance. The Red Sox are barely below .500 with 3 of their best guys hurt' date=' and 3 more struggling.[/quote']

Fairweather fans split when the team is doing poorly. Diehards like me and others who are on this board remain and want the best for the franchise so they can return to their winning ways. As 700 said, you can be a fan of the team and realize that, objectively, they are not very good. Not everyone roots for the team in the same way and to think that there is only one way, your way, to root for a team, is condescending.

Kalish isn't loaded with options so they are probably calling him up to have him on the team, rather than as a replacement for Sweeney.

One thing I'm excited about is that, regardless of how the season ends, it might finish with the OF of the future and maybe Middlebrooks and/or Lavarnway with the club as well. If they are going to toil in the bottom ranks they may as well play their prospects so they are ready to hit the ground running in 2013.

Maybe Kalish just the first of the Pawtucket kids to be brought up. I would also like to see Lavarnway up, and if Aviles continues to suck, Iglesias as soon as he is healthy enough to come up. My guess is that these kids will be fun to watch, that they will inject a little enthusiasm into what is now a lifeless character of the team, and that we will probably win more games than with some of the deadwood we have now. In any event, its time for the youth movement to take hold.

You figure one of these kids is going to be dealt for Garza. Just a hunch.

That should be done only if we can sign Garza to a deal longer than the one more year he is signed for now. Otherwise we are giving up a prospect for a one and a half year Garza rental. Since, realistically, this season is likely lost in terms of making the playoffs (no, I am not completely throwing in the towel just yet), they have to be careful about tossing away our top prospects for what could already be a lost cause.

Thank God.....Kalish.....finally. With any luck, he and WMB will both be lineup regulars for the Sox in short order.

Of course they do. I'm not one of the FO ballwashers. I still think this team has the ability to get it done. I think everyone knows this is a capable team too.

This is too bizarre with how poorly AGon's playing, as well as how poorly CC played last year, and those two guys and Ells will decide whether or not this team goes all the way, or finishes with 80-85 wins, and finishes 3rd or 4th. If they play to capabilities and Pedroia turns it around, not too much to ask, this team has the ability to still win 95 games.

Not to mention a rotation with Lester getting raped by peripherals and bound to improve, Beckett pitching like he did last year, and buchholz figuring his s*** out. Anything can happen when you have good pitching.
