Thank you Zimmerman for impersonating some of our hitters.

Are the Nats the first team ever with two Zimmermans in the same lineup?

Pitcher is Zimmermann, 3B is Zimmerman. Pitcher has an extra "N" at the end.

Are the Sox not second in offense in the league? They generate offense but they don't generate much in the way of meaningful offense and that is situational hitting. That takes want to.....like WMB not taking that strike 2 and dumping it into right instead of waiting for something he could pull.

Lester is struggling, fine. But Beckett has definitely turned the corner (2.21 ERA over last 5 starts), Buchholz is pretty clearly back to normal, Doubront had a stinker, but he's been very good this year, and DiceK can give us 6 innings, 3-4 ER and keep us in the game.

If the biggest thing we're worried about is Lester, then I promise you that we'll be fine.

And yet we are still in last place and little progress is being made to climb the ladder. When you look at the overall statistics we are second in runs scored and OPS, fifth in fielding, but THIRTEENTH in pitching in the AL. What facet of the game do YOU think is preventing us from climbing up the ALE ladder?

Sox haven't hit the ball in June. On May 31st, the Sox were 2.5 games out.

In June, the Sox have a 3.50 ERA, which is good for 5th in the AL, but they are 3-5 in June. They're only scoring 4.38 runs per game in June. That's why they're struggling. That's 9th in the AL.

So, you tell me. They go from 2.5 out to 5 out over the course of 8 games, and during that span, the pitching has posted a 3.50 ERA.

What facet of the game do YOU think is preventing us from climbing the ALE ladder? Try looking at more than just 1 stat.

Good analysis. Gotta admit that. Seems that when the pitching is on target, the hitting is off. Bottom line: we are five out and in last place for whatever the reason is. As I said, I never said the season is over, I said that right now they are playing mediocre baseball. If they can put it all together they could compete for the playoffs; if they cannot maintain the pitching, especially the starting pitching, they will continue to flounder.

What I'm saying is that the pitching is coming around and this is actually a good pitching staff, especially the 1-4. They'll find their numbers, and they're trending in the right direction.

So, what we've been struggling with is that the replacement level players are starting to find their numbers too, and so that's why Ellsbury, Crawford, and Ross will be such a boost.

We should score more runs after our injured guys get back once they work their way back into shape IF no one else gets injured and we should win more games IF none of our pitchers becomes injured and they all maintain current performance or better. Lots of variables here. Its hard to predict what kind of ball we will be playing in a month or so-for any of us. So I prefer to look at where we are now and hope for the best for the future.

No way we lose this game now.

Orsillo has donned his war paint.

I don't get why Orsillo and Remy get crap, I think they're good.
