Idiot. NEVER say crap like that. It never ends well.

2 run lead is not "sealed."

Come on now, the bullpen has turned it around pretty good.

I asked you the other day what you saw in him that made you think he had found something.

Youk and Middlebrooks with HRs tonight. Keep them both in the lineup.

Increased velocity out of the bullpen, going from stretch rather than windup makes it so much easier to repeat his delivery, and then Valentine/McClure are letting him get back to some of his quirky delivery (not all), but going for comfort rather than mechanical perfection. Also, control issues with SP are often times lessened out of the bullpen. Those are the biggest things.

The fact that BobbyV is throwing Miller as more-or-less a lefty specialist is also helpful. Lefties are vulnerable to chase pitches off the plate when there is a guy busting you with 97 on the hands and a filthy slider.

I wonder if the Sox have been trying to work WMB out in the outfield somewhere. This has not worked its way out the way they would like as the Sox continue to be shorthanded in the outfield and are log-jammed around the horn.

I really do not want to see AGons out there any longer. He is either going to get hurt or he is going to end up not making plays other guys who are just more athletic than he is would make. The play tonight was both a play a more athletic player would have made and a play where AGons could easily have been hurt.

Well the Red Sox have quite a problem now with Middlebrooks' date=' Youkilis AND Gonzalez hitting well.[/quote']

Not to mention Ortiz and Nava in the DH and LF spots respectively

They need to find a buyer for Youk. Since coming back from the DL, he's hitting back to his career norms. Someone will want that kind of production at 3rd, but putting his glove at 1st might be just as valuable. There won't be any arbitration picks from him-- its definitely worth seeing what kind of deals are out there.

While the fabulous Michael Pineda and Jose Campos enjoy the vacation known as the DL, Jesus Montero continues to mash and play average D at catcher (when allowed) while playing in a stadium where RH power goes to die.

I think we can still use him.

He's a ticking time bomb. He's either going to get hurt, or see a drop in production. They would definitely need to wait until some of the stars get back, but Youkilis won't be coming back next year.
