I... I think we may be looking at the end of a career here.

 

Unfortunately, our incompetent FO will keep him around until he has a couple of full seasons like this one. He isn't going anywhere.

The only good thing about this game is seeing all those empty seats where Red Sox fans used to sit. This is the only message that Henry understands. The only way to hurt him is to hit him in the pocketbook. Empty seats in Baltimore means empty seats at Fenway.

Clay needs to go to AAA, loose the cutter and regain his confidence... He is a good pitcher, see 2010 and 2011 when he was healthy. Also in 2009, he was the only reason the sox staff kept it together and made the playoffs.

I am convinced he is the dumbest pitcher on the Red Sox as well.

Why the hell do you hit and run with Salty, who does NOT make good contact, and is capable of blasting a pitch if he likes it?!?

And his talent level is grossly overestimated by many people. Tough as silly putty, he melts as soon as someone reaches first base. For whatever other unpleasant qualities guys like Beckett have out there, better pitchers bear down when the going gets tough.

That's stupid at this point in the game when you've got a guy at the plate who just blasted a 466 foot bomb.
